Max and Olivia had been friends since the first day they met, she was a really cool girl, she didn't really go by the normal "girl ways" like every other girl Max had met up until then. Which was probably why he'd decided on keeping her as a friend, instead of just seeing her as yet another sweet girl. "Hah, I could try.. I'll use my charm and see if she won't kill you." Max joked, though he knew he probably wouldn't make that much of a difference. Sure Mad and Olivia were good friends, she usually did listen to him, and him to her, but he couldn't really see how he'd be able to make it okay that Beau had beaten up her brother.. that was going to be a challange. But he'd at least try, he didn't want the two to end up not being friends cause of it.

Max sighed at what Beau said, he still couldn't picture Mia in a situation like that at all. But he had to take Beau's word for it, he knew Beau would never lie about something like that. As much as it killed Max to think of Mia that way, he had to realise it was the truth. "Why would she do that though? I mean, did you do something that would make her want to get back at you or something?" Max frowned, trying to think of a reason for why she'd do it. Was she going through something that none of the guys knew about? Shouldn't Eli keep a better watch on her? He should've realized she was acting differently, shouldn't he? If she even had been acting different.. Max just couldn't understand why she'd do it. "Dude, no, Nate came around, didn't he?" He leaned back against the wall again, looking up at the ceiling and let out a chuckle, "Yeah, I'll try not too.." He sighed, it seemed like love really wasn't all that that everyone made it out to be.

as if the great divide could swallow me whole

“it's worth a shot.” beau said with the shrug of his shoulders. maybe beau could whip up some sort of way to apologize for beating the shit out of her brother and ask her to prom all in one? or he could just suck it up and fly solo. he didn't think he would be much of a prom date anyway. he wouldn't dance unless they forced him to and he'd probably just sit at one of the back tables drowning in his own misery. his mom had said to him before that there was nothing wrong with going to prom with just your friends, but if all your friends had dates then that would make him the useless spare wheel. glancing back up to max, he shook his head at his roommate's question. “i didn't do shit, man, i swear.” at least that's what beau thought. unless she was trying to get back at him for all the nights he got high or shit-faced despite her hatred towards it. if that was case, it still didn't seem very fair. if she wanted to teach him a lesson, she should've tried a different method.

“well yeah, but nate only got mad because me and him are in love.” beau joked, flashing another big dimpled grin. it was obvious that nate wasn't exactly thrilled about his relationship with amelia at first. just like the rest of the guys, nate thought of mia like his baby sister too, and he had been best friends with elliot since they were young boys. it was only natural for nate to be in the same boat as eli. heaving himself up off of the bed, beau walked over to max and clapped a hand on his shoulder. “you're a good man, max hamlin.” he remarked with a smile, then he bent down and planted a playful kiss on top of max's head. grabbing his nikes from underneath his bed, he slipped them on and grabbed his ipod. “i'm going to go for a run.” beau announced with a sigh. “i need to get out of this room.” the boy opened up the door to their dorm and waved goodbye to max. “i'll see you later, buddy.”

Max nodded to confirm he'd try to talk to Olivia. It was worth a shot. If he could do something to make everything easier for Beau, he'd do it. He hated seeing his friend not being his usual self, he hated seeing him hurting over Amelia, so if it'd make him feel better to not have an angry Olivia at his back, Max would try and fix it. After all, it was Olivia, she was a sweet girl, she'd atleast give him a chance to explain and apologize.. Even though Max thought Robbie deserved what he got. He was Olivia's brother after all, no matter how badly he deserved to get his ass kicked. "Alright, I believe you." Max sighed, if Beau hadn't done anything, he needed to find out what had caused her to do something so stupid.

Max couldn't help but laugh at Beau's comment, it was a constant joke between the guys how Beau and Nate were really in love, Max had actually just been talking to Nate about it in text messages a couple of hours ago - making jokes about how badly they both wanted Beau. "Oh yeah, right, I forgot." Max winked at Beau, then watched as he got up. He grinned in response as Beau said he was a great guy, he did try to be a good guy, it was like his ultimate goal in life to be thought of as the nice guy. "Okay handsome, I'll see you later then." He winked at Beau as he left their dorm, relieved they'd finally talked. Now he knew what was wrong, and he could try to think of a way to fix it all.
