kiss me 'til we're drunk & i'll show you i've got the moves like jagger The place was packed, it was a Friday night so no surprise there. The unusual thing about the crowd was that a lot of them happened to be med school students from the university. This rare occurrence was in celebration of the last midterm of the year having been written early that day. With no classes to worry about attending till Monday, no papers or assignments to work on this weekend majority of the social medical students headed out to celebrate the near end of their first year. Isaac was amongst this group of 20-25 people. It had started off with dinner for anyone who could attend, and then the night out, where more and more classmates seemed to show up every few minutes. He stood bar against the bar in conversation with a smaller circle of friends from his class, the five of them were discussing plans for the summer months that were coming up and what they had done during spring break. The one rule for the night had been to not talk about classes or the midterms that they just wrote, total mood killers. The bar, Billiards was on the second floor over top of a small Italian restaurant below, it was a fair size with three bars, a dj, a staged dance floor, tables scattered around, and about four pool tables two on one side of the bar the other two on the opposite. A wall divided the bar in two, with two entrance ways on either side to let people walk back and forth without creating a bottle neck for the crowd. The décor was subtle, banners for the university, and random décor that gave the place a homey but very hipster feel. On the weekends billiards was usually one of the top places for students to congregate, with their top 40 pick in music, no cover charge, and the bouncers who were easy to pay off. There was usually a line of people waiting to get in by ten o’clock. The owner of the place was a local university graduate, so if you knew him, you could get on the VIP list to get in right away at whatever time you would show up. Now if you thought the place was a hit right now, in the warmer months the bar would open up the roof access and have a dual level party with a separate DJ up stairs and another bar. The weather wasn’t nice enough yet for the roof top to be open, so the party was contained inside the building for tonight. It was already ten thirty at night, students from all over the university and town locals mingled or danced to whatever the DJ spun for them. Some of the medical students had had the genius idea of inviting the nursing faculty to the celebration, something about how statistically doctors and nurses had a better chance of hooking up. Isaac had sent out a group message to all his friends letting them know he was going out to Billiards tonight with his faculty and if they wanted they should join them, a few said they would. ”So Isaac, how was Brazil on spring break? I should have joined you instead of going to Mexico. Did you hook up with any hot dancer?” He smiled and blushed slightly, he was already feeling a buzz on his third beer and he tried to act nonchalant, ”You should have came, the place was a party on every street.” Him and a few friends went in time to catch carnival. ”And I met this one girl, she could dance like freaken’ Shakira, actually I don’t remember her real name, I called her Shakira the whole time, I think she thought I was trying to act cute, when I really couldn’t remember her name.” Isaac laughed along with his friends and shrugged, ”Let’s just say she went all rabiosa in my bed while I was there.” This was followed by a few hi fives, and claims that next year they were going wherever Isaac was going, this quickly lead into one of the guy’s stories from Mexico this year. And people said med school students didn’t know how to party, just a few meters away on the dance floor one of their drunken classmates was attempting to poll dance on the random center poll of the stage.wearing this♥ thanks from kristen at atf/caution/sp
anywhere you go, i'll follow youthe party was going to be comprised mostly of med students - at least, that's what isaac had said, and gabe knew better than to doubt his best friend when it came to things like this. from the stories isaac had recounted over the years, stratton's medical student population seemed to be fairly intelligent (in the loosest sense of the word, of course; the majority of stratton's population wasn't 'intelligent' by any of gabe's standards). it had taken a bit of persuading, but after receiving a text from isaac advising him to go to the party, gabe had relented, deciding that coding could wait for a couple of hours, at the very most.it wasn't that gabe didn't enjoy going to parties, because he didn't mind them at all. it was just that everyone at parties was always so...dumb.he supposed that had something to do with the copious amounts of alcohol that were consumed at all college parties, but it was still painful to watch. he held his alcohol pretty well, if he did say so himself, and even when hewasintoxicated, he was pretty much the same as he was sober. the only difference was that when drunk, he loosened up quite a bit. he talked more, he laughed, he had conversations. sure, his mind still operated in overtime, with ten conversations going on inside his head, but he wasn't quite the superior ass that he could be sometimes while sober.brazil had been interesting, that was for sure. isaac's constant prodding him to leave his laptop alone and go have fun had quickly become irksome - to the point where they'd actually had a fight about it. gabe tried explaining (perhaps a bit condescendingly) that it was important to him, and he was sorry he couldn't just turn his brain on and off like isaac seemed to be able to, while isaac had (more or less) told him that he needed to stop treating people like shit and thinking he knew everything when he didn't. of course, it had been a little less harsh, but that was the general gist. granted, they'd also both been drunk at the time, but gabe knew that there was some truth in what his friend had said, even if he didn't want to admit it. everyone, himself included, knew that gabriel swanson could be a patronizing son-of-a-bitch, and that was exactly how he'd treated isaac for a couple of days in brazil. the only thing it had led to was a lot of bickering, one very heated fight, and a resolution that they would drink themselves into submission while in brazil and shut the fuck up about everything that bared any importance to their everyday lives.and so they had. for the following few weeks, brazil had been a paradise. gabe swore that if he saw another caipirinha, he'd vomit, but it had still been incredible. they'd taken so much vodka with them, they could have filled oil drums - okay, so maybe that was an exaggeration, but really, there had beenso much booze.after they agreed to drink rather than talk, that was basically all they did whenever they were together. and when they weren't together, they were out with other friends or hooking up with brazilian women. despite being the reserved nerdy kid at school, gabe had a surprising ease with getting his dick sucked in hotel bathrooms, cafe booths, or in one case, on the beach. her name was gabriela and for some reason, she was drawn to him like a magnet. she said he was 'adorable' or something equally ridiculous. but hey,que sera, sera, right? she had been more than willing to put her mouth wherever he wanted, and he had been more than willing to talk to her (provided he was drunk off his ass) and make out, or whatever she wanted. it was a good time, and now he could hardly remember what she looked like. thank God for spring break.but this wasn't brazil. this was billiards, the hottest bar in canterbury, and gabe was here because isaac had asked him, and even if things between them were still tense, he always came running for isaac. he knew the owner, anyway - he'd helped to engineer the website for the place - so he didn't have to stand in that stupid line for an hour. after finally making his way past the crowd and into the door, he got a beer in his hand and began a search for isaac.tagged: my nick | word count: 760 | outfit: here | notes: i love youcassie at atf & caution.
kiss me 'til we're drunk & i'll show you i've got the moves like jagger If Isaac had to sum up his class and let someone know what the future of the healthcare system looked like, he would warn them. His class was comprised of at least eighty percent of students that were sole book smart. They could recite how to do a procedure or diagnose a patient no problem, but as soon as it came to making a decision that took common sense or that wasnt written in the book, well they just seemed to shut down. Isaac wasnt saying that they were socially inept, actually he got along really well with a lot of his classmates, he just feared for them when it came time to their clinical rotations, and eventually their residency. It wasnt like Isaac was perfect in class and out of the box thinking, but he has experience in the healthcare field and in situations that would require critical thinking and quick decision making. With the seriousness of their impending school work set aside, the med students that had come out seemed to change into completely different people. They usually quite studies people were yelling over the music and doing shot after shot. Of course their motto was always, Party as hard as you study. Tonight proof of how well everyone followed the rule. He wouldnt say that he lived by that rule, he had way too many commitments to actually party that much when he wasnt worrying about school. That didnt mean he didnt have his nights out, some of them resulting in no recollection of the events of a party. Plus Isaac was sociable enough to get along with enough people to be invited to something every weekend, and drunk Isaac was sociable enough to carry on a party if need be. As the guys went on and on about their spring break Isaac wondered how differently it would have been if more of his classmates had gone to Brazil with him. It had only been a small group of friends who didnt want to have the ordinary spring break. As awesome as Isaac had made it seem, the trip had had its low parts as well, some of the consequences still reverberating into his life back at school. Like usual Isaac had convinced his roommate and best friend to come to Brazil, all was good until a few days into the trip when they got into a drunken argument over how Gabes personality was stopping him from having fun on the vacation, but really when you treat everyone else like they are below you, no ones going to want to invite you anywhere. Isaac didnt quite remember exactly what was said, but lines were crossed, and the rest of the trip was spend with their mouth shut and full of liquor. This continued for the rest of the trip. Most of the time Gabe was with Gabriela, Isaac had pointed out how amusing it was that her name was the feminine version of Gabes. Isaac spent the rest of the trip with Shakira or the other people who came with. Days were spend on the beach playing beach soccer with the locals or swimming, evenings were spend exploring the city of Rio, nights were at block parties or clubs, early mornings in bed passing out or fucking the brains out of Shakira or someone else if he had lost her during the party. By the time he boarded the plane Isaac was so exhausted that he slept the whole flight into the states, the layover in Houston, and the flight back into town. Even though Shakira had gone to the airport to bid them adieu both of them hadnt bothered to exchange any false promises of keeping in touch or seeing one another again, no facebook, twitter, e-mails, or numbers. They both knew that they were just a spring break fling. The thought of her still brought a grin, portuguese accents were one of his favorites. If he wasnt going to work all summer break he would definitely be planning a trip back to Brazil or to Portugal.Well ever since the end of spring break, which ended two weeks ago, Isaac had gone back to his usual routine of studying and working, but now with added tension in the dorm. There was an obvious tension in the air whenever Gabe and Isaac were around one another, even though when people were over they tried to pretend everything was alright. They had yet to soberly address what happened in Brazil, they were both avoiding that conversation, most likely for different reasons. Setting the now empty bottle down on the bar top Isaac turned to get another from the bartender before turning back to his friends, they had now changed the conversation to sports. Gabe came into view, just a few feet away, drink in hand, with a look that Isaac knew very well, he was looking for him. Leaving his group he walked over, avoiding the drunken stumbled of everyone else, or perhaps that was just him stumbling, he was quite tipsy already. You came! Isaac smiled as he reached his roommate, tapping his shoulder with his free hand so that he would turn around to face him. Just dont make it awkward, Isaac knew that they both had to go back to acting normal around each other again. wearing this♥ thanks from kristen at atf/caution/sp
TAG: NICK/ISAAC +KRYS/GABE WORDS: 682 WEARING: THIS Billie had been roped into going out to Billiards with her fake ID by the promise of free drinks and the pleading of some of her friends that lived across the hall from she and Maureen. It wasnt that she didnt want to go, it was just that she didnt want to go with a group of girls she didnt really speak to and whose names she didnt particularly remember or care about. Still, she was bored, so she relented and pretty soon, she was dressed upor as dressed up as she actually needed to be and she and her group headed out. They kept talking about how much they missed her over break and that they wished that she had went with them to Mexico or Florida or wherever each of them had gone, respectively. She feigned an apology and promised that theyd have to hang out over summer break, not that she actually meant it: Billie missed Brazil, already and yearned for the day that shed return. It had felt like a home away from home. Even if she had been invited by Isaac to go with he and his roommate, Gabriel, who Billie may or may not have been (and may possible still be) kind of interested in, to Brazil, she found that she spent most of her time with boys she had met at the parties theyd gone to or the clubs they were at, be it natives or tourists, as long as they were hot or she was drunk, she did not discriminate. She would put up with them for awhile: the usual jokes about her name that shed pretend to think we funny and the fact that it reached the point where all of the guys shed met couldnt give two fucks if she knew their name or not because she just called them all, baby. Not to mention the fact that she'd got to experience one of her many superfluous dreams of going to Carnival and wearing one of the slightly risqu costumes that a lot of the other women wore. That night was probably the best of them all and it was the point when Billie had decided to postpone her former plan of spending her spring break trying to get Gabriel Swanson to notice (and subsequently fall in love with) her until they returned back to school. She hadn't really spent a lot of time with him anyways so she had no idea whether or not they were even friends. If only he were easier to read. The night of Carnival, Billie had attracted the attention of some random guy whose name she also couldn't remember, except for the fact that he was gorgeous and that he had an accent and spoke often in Portuguese which she couldn't understand but loved nonetheless. She thought his name had been Eddie or something, but she had probably played her usual game of calling him "baby," all she really remembered was that he had monopolized most of her time afterwards. But she was home now and she was less than ecstatic to be; everything was so boring back in Canterbury. Or as boring as they could be when there were cameras recording everything. Getting into Billiards was easy enough, most people didnt question whether or not Billie was actually 21 or not (even if she wasnt) because she looked it and her ID said that she was, that was pretty much all of the evidence that they needed. She followed her friend, scanning the Friday night crowd for someone, anyone else that she even remotely knew. Immediately, she saw Isaac with a bunch of people that she figured were med-students and Gabriel. She wasnt sure whether now would be an appropriate time to interrupt them or not, but Billie ordered a drink and approached the group, keeping enough of a distance from Gabe and Isaac to not disturb their conversation but to sort of let either of them know that she was here, flirting with one of Isaacs fellow med-students as an alternative to interrupting them.BY KENA OF ATF AND CAUTION. NOTES: i tried to make billie as nonintrusive as i could. love you guys.
totally fuckedthere's a moment you know you're fucked, not an inch more room to self-destruct, no more moves oh yeah the dead end zone, man you just can't call your soul your own. but the thing that makes you really jump is that the weirdest shit is still to come and you can ask yourself hey, what have i done? you're just a fly that the little guys, they kill for fun. man you're fucked if you just freeze up, can't do that thing, that keeping still but you're fucked if you speak your mind and you know uh-huh you will yeah you're fucked alrightparties weren't really gabriel's thing. really, that went without being said; anyone that was ever around him at a party or a club could definitely tell that he was awkward and out-of-place. he did a pretty good job of fitting in as far as his clothes (although if isaac taylor weren't his roommate, he'd probably still wear sweats and a t-shirt to clubs), but the expression on his face was never a relaxed one, he was sure. most social activities weren't gabe's thing, simply because... well, because people were stupid, and he did not by any means enjoy being around them. this case was no different. isaac's classmates, though med students and grad students, had very little common sense. they were extremely book smart, yeah, but what the fuck did gabriel care if they could properly take and read a blood test and its results? if they thought he was letting them anywhere near him with a needle, they were high; granted, he'd only actually met a few of the people in attendance tonight, but that was all he needed to form the opinion that they were all incompetent and incapable of doing anything but passing exams and getting drunk off their asses.no, parties were definitely not gabe's thing, but that didn't mean he just sat in his room and coded twenty-four-seven. he liked to drink, he liked to have one-night-stands with girls that didn't know their own names, let alone his, and he liked to go out with isaac and make fun of everyone that couldn't stand up straight after only two beers. a lot of people seemed to think that gabe was some weird robot that didn't know how to have a good time whatsoever, and that just wasn't true. the fact that he hated interacting with strangers because they generally turned out to be ignorant had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he knew how to use a beer bong (and was pretty good at it). the only difference between the drinking he liked to do and parties like this was that he generally went to house parties, because there seemed to be more girls and more places to hide from the abundance of stupidity. clubs like this, however, were generally loud, cramped, hot, and overall obnoxious - and besides that, drinks were expensive and sometimes not very good.gabe took a short swig of beer and winced at its bitter taste, still glancing around for his roommate. he knew things were bound to be awkward between them still, but what was he going to do about it? talk about what had happened in brazil? nah, he was good without having that conversation, thanks. isaac would eventually forget about it, gabe was sure, and he'd just bottle it up until it wasn't bothering him anymore. it was only when he felt a familiar touch on his shoulder that he turned and his eyes met those of his roommate and best friend (no matter what), isaac taylor. 'you came!' isaac said, pointing out the extremely obvious, but gabe kept his mouth shut in regard to the ridiculous apparentness of that statement. "i came," he said, voice almost an echo of isaac's. as if things weren't awkward enough, gabe had a habit of looking away from an uncomfortable situation - isaac knew that - and that's just what he did. he glanced to the floor, then to his side, where he saw another familiar face: billie jean dawson. she had accompanied them on their brazil trip, and though gabe hadn't seen too much of her on the trip, he had definitely liked what he had seen. there was no denying that she was hot, even if she could be a little rude. he couldn't get their introduction at the computer lab out of his head. she'd been one of the few people that wasn't scared of him - in fact, she'd actually stood up to him and been sarcastic, to the point of being a bitch. he appreciated that she didn't act like he was a machine, trained and given one purpose: to fix her laptop. they'd shared drinks on the beach once, but other than that, hadn't had much contact with each other - not that it really bothered him, but it was just interesting to him that a group could go to a foreign country together and then not see each other for three weeks.he put the bottle to his lips and tipped it up again, as if to greet billie, before turning his gaze back to isaac. "you're intoxicated," he said, the usual tone of observation lingering in his voice. well, as long as they were on the trend of making ridiculously obvious declarations...for: nick & brit. outfit: here. words: 793. notes: i love you both, a lot. and the template was coded by sophia of caution & atf
kiss me 'til we're drunk & i'll show you i've got the moves like jagger The place was already full of people, loud, and smelled of booze, if you really paid attention, the floors were slightly sticky with the amount of spilled drinks on it already. In other words Billiards was bumpin Isaac enjoyed nights like these, being out with friends, drinking, and having a good time in a place full of loud music and people to meet. He didnt exactly have a scene that he belonged to, Isaac attended almost everything that he was invited to if he had the time to go. That meant no school work, or jobs, or anything important to be done. Much like a night like tonight, Isaacs plan, get wasted, wake up, if not at his dorm go back to dorm, sleep till Monday. It seemed like a perfectly good, flawless plan. It got done exactly what he needed done this weekend, fun, sleep, and avoid the excess amount of tension between him and his roommate. It was Isaacs way of avoiding trouble, avoiding the person you were having trouble with, but it was pretty hard to do that when it was your roommate and best friend. Eventually Isaac would forgive and forget, and eventually Gabe would go back to normal. It just needed time. All Isaac had needed to do was to leave Gabe be in Brazil, but no, he had to go and try and convince him to leave his laptop aside and go have fun, it was spring break after all. Anyways the argument had left the two of them on their own, and Isaac had hung out with Billie Jean for a little while but she had also found herself a companion while they were there. They all sort of broke out into different groups, and came together to hang out for dinner, or a tour, then go out in smaller groups or on their own with other people they met. Brazil had been great even with the drama that had happened. He didnt know if Billie Jean had gotten a hint that the two guys werent getting along to well during the trip, if she had she hadnt said anything about it. Once they got back Isaac had began to hang out with Billie Jean more in hopes to spend time with her more as friends, and to avoid Gabe. It had worked for the first three weeks, but even Isaac was growing tiresome of his avoiding tactics. He was greeted with the usual bored look from Gabe; he knew that Gabe hated bars or pubs, anything loud with a lot of people. So Gabe being here was a surprise to Isaac, especially since he had only sent him a text, and not been at the dorm to force him to go with him. His response made Isaac raise an eyebrow but he said nothing against it. Isaac held his tongue which was strange because Isaac was usually loose with words when he was drinking, but he had enough sense in him to not pick a fight with Gabe over his sarcastic greeting. When his roommate looked away Isaac took the opportunity to roll his eyes while brining his bottle to his lips for another drink. Looking over at the group of friends he had just left he noticed a familiar face that had not been there before, Billie Jean stood talking to one of his classmates. A genuine smile broke out when he spotted her, BJ and Isaac had a platonic relationship where they could flirt with one another and bother each other to bits knowing full well that nothing was ever going to happen. Isaac knew about her crush for Gabe, and he had invited Billie Jean along to Brazil to try and get the two of them closer. Nothing had happened but he knew that BJ had a way of sneaking into people. He stayed looking at her until he heard Gabe speaking to him again. Turning his gaze back to Gabe he stared at him blankly for a moment, Yeah, thats part of the plan. Isaac shrugged his eyes on his roommate still. He didnt understand why he had to act like that all the time. Thanks for coming out, Im gunna go say hi to BJ before Kevin convinces her to play doctor in the washroom stalls, you should come with. He smiled mostly to himself as he walked off towards Billie Jean. Isaac felt a need to sort of be protective of BJ, she was one of his closest friends after all. Isaac loved her, but it was a different kind of love, love for a friend, and he rather not know that Kevin hooked up with her. Coming up behind Billie Jean, Isaac interrupted the two much like how you would see in a movie. Oh Hello Billie Jean. He smiled as he looped an arm around her waist, looking over at Kevin with a back off look, before turning to Billie Jean again with a slightly drunken smile. Kevin has fleas you might want to stay away. Isaac whispered into her ear with laughing as he moved to stand beside her. Gabe is here too. He was still on the mission to get these two together, even while he was not getting along with his roommate.ooc: I was gunna make isaac kiss bj on the cheek in greeting but I feel he isn't quite drunk enough for that yet...lolwearing this♥ thanks from kristen at atf/caution/sp
TAG: NICK/ISAAC +KRYS/GABE WORDS: 799 WEARING: THIS The amount of people at this bar was just a bit surprising to Billie, even if it was a Friday. Canterbury wasnt exactly a huge city, its claim to fame was probably the stupid cameras that were like security monitors allowing the world to have some kind of glimpse into the citizens private life, which kind of bugged Billie: some things were supposed to be private. Her life wasnt an exhibit, it wasnt anyones business but her own. This was Canterbury, not the goddamned Jersey Shore, and even though she had to admit there were some interesting happenings that occurred there with the drama among the people but she didnt remember signing up for this. Not that she hated the attention or anything, if this was what she had to put up with, she was the type that would try to make the best out of a bad situation. Billie liked to believe that she had some kind of amazing ability when it came to charming them, whether it was true or not was a matter up for debate. She hadnt always been good at it, especially during her really awkward adolescence. Now, though, Billie was pretty lively type of girl; she could hold her own at a party and she kind of liked attention, especially attention from men. It was one of her favorite things about being a social butterfly: people paid attention to you. Sure, most of the guys who talked to her only did it because they assumed that she would sleep with themand there was a chance that she might, if they were lucky. The guy she was currently talking to was Kevin Something-or-other; she had never been really good with names, but she knew that he was a med student who knew Isaac. She would have gone to talk to him and probably have playfully flirted with him, as was their usual relationships. But Gabe was there and his presence was one of the reasons she decided to stay with Kevin, even if he was a little touchy, creepy and veryhands-on in his approach with her. It was taking her a good deal of restraint not to hurt him, but she was attempting to manage to not intrude upon the situation that was a Gabe and Isaac conversation, especially since they had seemed kind ofdifferent since they had come back from Brazil and Isaac had been spending more time with her, not that she complained, he was one of her best friends, so she really had no objections to it, though she did find it to be a little weird, since Gabe was Isaacs best friend. She just kind of assumed he was in his room, coding or fixing someones laptop as he had hers once before, the two of them had never really talked to one another all that much. Sure, she was still kind of crushing on him, but his anti-social ways had kind of prevented anything from happening. She did notice him nod at her slightly as he took a drink from his beer so she waved slightly, but turned her attention back to Kevin, who was talking to her about something she hadnt really been listening to? Cars, maybe, she wasnt entirely sure, all she knew is that if his hand reached any lower, shed probably kill him. Right as she was getting more frustrated than she thought she would get by Kevins forward advances, Isaac came towards her like some kind of knight in shining armor or like in the movie Aladdin when Aladdin rescued Princess Jasmine from the clutches of the completely disgusting and undeniably rape-y looking Jafar. She made a mental note to thank him profusely later and tell him about her Aladdin thoughts; Billie Jean didnt really have much a filter. Isaac was, at the current moment, her savior, she loved him in a way that was completely platonic, almost like an older brother; she was honestly just happy to have him as one of her best friends. She thought nothing of it when he put his hand around her waist and instead, only looking to him and smiling, Isaac! I didnt know you were here. Isaac was kind of drunk, Billie had observed, not that it really bothered her, what else was there to do at a bar? She chuckled slightly at his comment about Kevin having fleas but then stopped when he mentioned Gabe. She had wanted to say hi to him, Billied known he was there, Lets go say hi; hes alone, as usual, she said, grabbing Isaacs hand and pulling her with him towards Gabe. Hello, Gabriel, she said, making sure to emphasize his name. How are you tonight, Billie asked, instead of her actual question of What are you doing here?BY KENA OF ATF AND CAUTION.
