WE GOT ALL THESE WORDS
CANT WASTE THEM ON ANOTHER
so i'm, straight in a straight line running back to you

It had been two days since he'd returned back home from the Bahamas. A lot had happened on that trip for Nate, and he knew he would never forget it. It was ironic that before the trip he'd actually spent time complaining to his friends at how messed up he was feeling, and they all said they'd vow off having anything to do with girls. And yet, for the vacation, Nate had actually spent the majority of the time being ruled by girls, or girl anyway. Skye. He'd realised his feelings for her on that trip. Yep, Nathaniel Hart had actual real feelings for a girl. And he'd told her about it, knowing full well she was with Isaac. He was scared of course. It seemed they both were. And she revealed she felt the same, telling him she'd speak to Isaac at some point soon. Thing was, that soon didn't come quickly enough for Nate. A couple of night's later he was out at the local club, with the rest of the boys, and he ended up attempting to hook up with some girl. Skye appeared out of nowhere, and you can imagine how that went down. Especially with alcohol involved. But there were clearly underlying reasons behind why Nate had done what he had, or almost did; the wait for Skye had got to him. Why would she want him back? And obviously the length of time Nate was having to wait was putting doubts in his belief of Skye's feelings for him. But they sorted it, as far as it could be sorted, so the trip went on as well as it could.

The next day after the argument, of course the boys; in particular his roommate and best friend Eli, asked him where he went. And Nathaniel explained as best he could without revealing everything; he'd seen Skye and scarpered. Which was true, but not to run away from her, to run to her. But that part he left out. It's not that he enjoyed lying to his friends, especially Elliot, it's just he didn't exactly know how to tell them everything. He knew he would have to eventually; and it'd end up causing a long talk between them, but Nate didn't want to do that until he knew everything himself. He felt completely in limbo right now. The few more days had past since seeing Skye that night, and he hadn't again throughout the rest of the holiday. He wasn't even avoiding her really, sure keeping a distance, not trying to see her, but not avoiding her. But still nothing, no inkling to say she'd broken up with Isaac; nothing. He almost became frightened of turning a corner anywhere on the island and seeing Skye and Isaac together, acting just like a couple. The rejection and hurt, he knew, would cause him pain he'd never experienced before.

He was completely frustrated. He didn't want to find her and push her, cause he didn't know what that would cause. Probably another argument and just inevitable limbo again. And the only thing Nate enjoyed doing when he was frustrated was playing the drums. Of course there was the other option to taking his frustrations away, and that was hooking up with girls, but of course that wasn't going to happen. After the incident in the club he realised, not only did he not want to risk Skye seeing again, but also, he didn't even really want to hook up with anyone else. And so, here he was on his way from his room in the early evening. Luckily when he got back to the band room, the place was empty. It was a Tuesday night, and his usual time for coming over here, so he assumed most people would be in their rooms studying for exams or catching up with homework. Nate had to forget about all that though and put his mind onto drumming. Seeing his usual drum kit in the corner, he made his way over in a couple of strides, picking up the drum sticks as he sat himself down on the seat. He loved coming to use this drum kit cause it was facing away from the doorway, so he could completely keep his mind elsewhere rather than anyone distracting him. Pulling his ipod out of his jean pocket, he put the buds into his ear, selecting the song he needed to play along to so desperately. Clicking play, he picked up the beat easily, feeling his frustration release immediately. After about thirty minutes of playing along to a few songs, he was starting to feel a little tired of the continuous playing and his throat getting slightly dry. Taking his ipod out of his pocket again he paused the song and pulled the earbuds out, wrapping them around the player then returned it to his pocket. Releasing a small sigh from his lips, he placed the sticks down onto the drum kit, standing up from his position to go get some sort of drink.

those you've known

It'd been about a day since Skye got back from the Bahamas. Which had been a trip of a life time. In a very, very weird way. Nate had confessed his feelings for her, she'd replied with saying she also felt something, they decided she would figure things out, then come find him. But that didn't really go as planned. She couldn't get a hold of Isaac, well he picked up his phone and all, but he didn't really have time to spend with her. So Skye's plans on breaking up with him would have to wait, he had other things to do then see her. Which caused even more drama for Skye and Nate, but that worked itself out too. The night after their meeting at the club, Skye had had enough so she went looking for Isaac. Finally finding him, and working everything out. She was done. The next day, they were all going home. She'd spotted Nate at the airport for a second or so, but the airport wasn't really the right place for a conversation like that, and she'd decided to wait until they got back to Ellison.

Her mom had picked her up at the airport, surprising her with some "mother daughter time" - which they hadn't had in ages. Sure, Skye loved her mom and wanted to spend all the time she could with her, but she sure knew how to pick the worst possible moments. But, seeing as she hadn't seen her mom in forever, a little more waiting for Nate couldn't hurt, could it? So she'd spent the time shopping, gossiping and watching movies. Now she was back at Ellison though, and ready for her conversation with Nate. Which she had no idea how it would go, at all.

Walking through the corridors at Ellison, she looked in every direction along the way, looking for Nate. There was no sign of him, but his teammate had told her he would be here somewhere. She sighed, picking up her pace as she walked. He might be in the bandroom, he did like to play drums and all, maybe that's what he was doing. As she made a left around the corner, she noticed the cameras following her. She stopped, looking around for a way out or anything to distract them, she definitely didn't need them following her around right now. She bit her lip, trying to think of a way to distract them. She smiled to herself as she got the idea, she'd just have to mislead them. Time for some acting skills. She put on a fake look of surprise and shock, hurrying over to the camera men. "Ohmygod did you see that Kelly Cross girl? She'd having a total melt down in the courtyard!" She gasped and pointed them towards the school entrance, the camera men instantly caught on and ran over to it, leaving Skye by herself.

Running over to the band room, she looked around, it was completely empty, except for a lonely figure in the corner by one of the drumsets. Nathaniel Hart. She smiled big at seeing him, "Hey you!" She shouted as she walked quickly across the floor towards him, "Guess who's officially a single girl and can do whatever the fuck she wants." She said, taking the last few steps in a stride and throwing her arms around his neck, full on kissing him on the lips. Skye had never really been good with bounderies, but oh well.

WE GOT ALL THESE WORDS
CANT WASTE THEM ON ANOTHER
so i'm, straight in a straight line running back to you

The day previous, the majority of the kids at Ellison got off, purely with the excuse of 'jetlag'. Nate was a little angry about this though. Sure he liked the day off, but he'd just spent the whole vacation lazing around not doing much; and Nate was an active person. And also, spending a day at school would mean being distracted from his plaguing thoughts about Skye. Of course he liked thinking about Skye, but the fact he still didn't know where he stood with her made him feel uneasy; and so he tried his hardest not to think about her. So at least being in class would give him a distraction. Then again, being at school could mean bumping into her, meaning the whole distancing thing would come to a head. Today had actually gone quite smoothly though, he'd only seen her once in the corridor at her locker, as they didn't have any classes together today. He'd seen her heeled shoes, recognising the body that followed instantly, causing him to turn the other way.

However, the turn to head out of the band room now, ironically was the complete opposite. As he turned to go get a drink, there she was in clear eyesight. As soon as they made eye contact the nerves started getting to him again, a feeling he rarely had bubbling in his stomach; only when it came to Skye. She was grinning directly at him, but at this distance he had no idea what type of grin it was. A properly happy smile, or a menacing mocking one. He hoped for the first one obviously, but the second one could be true also. Meaning everything he was hoping for was going to be taken away from him in the next few moments. She could have found him just to tell him he was stupid, and that she would never be with him over Isaac. Nate had never really doubted himself before, but when it came to unknown feelings, it's all he felt. He had no idea how to do any of this. It felt like time had frozen as all this thoughts were flying through his mind. Then finally she spoke, cutting him out of his mind spiralling, and causing him to jump slightly.

This was it. There was no way he could run away now. As the words hit him though, he felt no reason to run away. She was a single girl. And as she said, in such a lady like fashion, she could do whatever the fuck she wanted. And before he could come out with a cocky sarcastic innuendo, she took the initiative to take the long strides over to him and throwing herself into his arms, catching her instantly. All the doubts he had previously had flying through his mind escaped him completely; just in the moment that she kissed him. He was shocked; but this was what he had been waiting for for so long. Naturally he kissed her back, with just as much force. After all the tension that was put between them because of the boundaries that had ben made, this felt like a release no amount of drumming could ever give him. Pulling away, not cause he wanted to, but purely because he needed to breath, he looked her directly in the eyes, loosening his grip slightly to place her back on the floor. Still with the foreheads touching he spoke, "Does this mean..?" he said in a whisper, he wasn't surprised he could barely speak. He didn't know what else to say though, he really was in complete shock.

Skye couldn't help but be overwhelmed with joy. Finally the spark shooting through her body as Nate touched her didn't make her feel guilty. Now it only felt right. She could finally let the emotion take her in completely, without having to fight it off. And by doing that, she realized how much she'd been fighting. All she could think of was how happy she was, she was finally there with him, and nothing was holding them back. There was nothing unsaid, and no hidden feelings. It was all out in the open, and now they could take it however they wanted.

The smile wouldn't leave her lips, she just wanted to smile even more as he basically lifted her up, she just wanted to keep kissing him for.. well ever. But naturally, they both needed to breathe. As he pulled back, she still had the smile on her lips, looking up and into his eyes. They were just as amazing as the last time she'd been looking into them. But this time it didn't make her hurt, because now she actually had a chance to be with him, and no one was telling her she couldn't. She bit her lip playfully, still keeping her eyes locked with his, listening as he spoke. She couldn't help but giggle a little at how he seemed to not be able to speak properly. She probably wouldn't be either, when she tried. "It means it's definitely over with me and Isaac, and.. well."

She took a deep breath, trying to steady her own heartbeats that were beating faster then normal, carefully running her fingers through his hair, playing with it. She'd always wanted to do that, but she never had, since there had always been these bounderies between them, and lines they couldn't cross. But now there was nothing, and she didn't even have to worry about the cameras at the moment, since she'd done such a good job or luring them away. Plus they'd hear them way before they got to the room, so it was all good. "I guess it means whatever you want it to mean." She said quietly, smiling at him, just hoping he wouldn't pull some sort of flip on her now and exclaim he was only joking before. But she was pretty damn sure that wasn't the case.

The realisation of what was happening still hadn't hit him properly. The pair of them were both free to do whatever they pleased, finally. Of course Nate was never really tied down, except for his initial denial and hiding of his feelings. But now, everything was out in the open, and okay. Looking directly into her eyes made realisation hit him, causing him to match her smile with his own. His whole body was pumping cause of blood flow now, his heart was completely racing. But this was a good feeling, one he wanted to feel for long to come. He bit down on his lip to distract himself a little from the buzzing feeling he was getting. He was just so incredibly happy. He didn't think he would have felt this happy really. Nate wasn't much of an enthusiastic smiler. He had a signature smirk of course, which was his usual expression. But he rarely showed pure happiness, only really when they won a game of hockey or something along those lines. So feeling this right now was incredible.

Hearing her giggle at his voice made him blush slightly, but he knew she felt the same, he could see it in her eyes. And his thoughts were confirmed as she spoke also, stumbling with her words. Of course he wanted to know more about what happened with her and Isaac. How it happened, when it happened and so on, but right now he was too happy to even question or push that issue. Hearing Isaac's name made him frown slightly, that guy had had what he had wanted for so long; but now that he'd given up, Nate found himself feeling grateful towards the guy. Of course Nate had no idea whether Skye had even mentioned Nate in the breaking up, but surely Isaac had some idea, he was a smart guy after all. Still with their forehead's touching, he widened his eyes slightly, waiting for her to carry on. Though he could have waited for however long she needed, just basking in the reality of her being there.

Feeling with her playing with the back of his hair, he felt the shiver he had felt that other night on vacation when she whispered into his ear. There was nothing stopping them now, no need to hide, or feel like what they were doing was wrong. They could do whatever they wanted. Releasing his lip from the confines of his top lip, he broke out into a smaller smile again, as she confirmed it could mean whatever he wanted it to mean. And he knew what he wanted it to mean. Narrowing his eyes slightly, he smirked, feeling his confidence and inevitable Nathaniel Hart traits returning to him. He pulled away slightly in his stance, but still so their faces where close. "Does it mean I can finally have my wicked way with you?" he enhanced his smirk on his face, a glint to his eye to say he was just joking, but in a flirting matter. As if to confirm this, he swooped in yet again, capturing her bottom lip between his own, preventing her to retort back, smiling into this kiss.

Skye had never felt these kinds of feelings for any guy, ever. Sure she'd had that boyfriend not too long ago, the one she thought was her everything, the one she thought she'd end up marrying. He was the kindof guy who succeeded with the whole "putting on an act" thing. He seemed like the sweetest guy ever, for the entire time they were together. Until she found out he'd cheated on her with her bestfriend. So much for their happily ever after. After that, Skye had sworn off boys. She'd changed herself, she'd grown and gotten a whole new kind of personality. She'd become the girl she'd always wanted to be. The one who all the guys loved to hang out with because she was so "laid back". She wasn't considered to be a drama queen anymore, and she didn't even feel like one. She'd learned how to take a step back, look over the situation, breathe slowly and then move on. She didn't need to cry or yell or well, do anything dramatic what so ever in most situations anymore. Now she could relax and stop worrying about things. But the whole, "i won't ever like a guy ever again" had definitely changed once she met Nate.

A part of Skye wondered if she'd actually gotten together with Isaac as another step towards denying her feelings for Nate. Since she'd obviously felt them for a long time, just ignored the shit out of them until it wasn't possible anymore. It was a possibility that they'd been there longer then she thought. They had always been amazing friends, no matter what they did or what people threw at them, they loved hanging out with eachother, and usually did it by themselves because they didn't need other people around them. They were content with just the other. Skye had never been bored around Nate, ever, and it didn't seem like he ever got bored with her either. Maybe they were meant to build that amazing friendship, that would lead to this, or whatever this would turn out to be. They had the whole future ahead of them, nothing planned, nothing decided, they could just go along and see what would happen.

Making a joke as always, Skye laughed at what Nate said. Of course he would have to say atleast something along those lines, if he didn't, she would think he'd been replaced by some alien or something. He was Nate after all, and that was the guy she liked and wanted to be with. Not some prince charming who'd pour his heart out and serenade her while riding in on a white horse. She'd probably pass out from humiliation if that ever happened. She smiled big again as he kissed her, it just felt so right, She couldn't believe it had taken them all this time to get to where they finally were, but the wait was definitely worth it. Nothing could beat this. She put more force into the kiss, pushing her body closer to his for a moment before pulling back again. It was definitely harder to stay in control of her actions with Nate then it had been with anyone else, it was way too easy to just go with whatever emotion her body was feeling and then glide along. But this was definitely not the place for a more then appropriate moment. She smiled apologetically at him, giggling once more. "I think we should go somewhere and talk.. or something, because I don't know how long the cameras will go around looking for Kelly Cross before they realize I lied." She smiled innocently at him, letting go of her grip around his neck, tracing her finger down his arm and linking her hand with his.

WE GOT ALL THESE WORDS
CANT WASTE THEM ON ANOTHER
so i'm, straight in a straight line running back to you

On top of his happiness, he felt pure relief. He'd finally got what he wanted. After putting himself and his feelings on the line, there was always the thought at the end of it all he could be completely rejected. And he knew what would have happened if that were so. He knew he would have totally relapsed and gone but to his former self, if not into a worse state. Probably out partying most nights, not even caring about his reputation on and off camera. He'd obviously play it off as a 'I don't care about anything' attitude, though really it would have been painfully obvious he was hurting. Would he have completely spiralled? Probably in the girl's part of things, but he probably would still have control; maybe drinking here and there, but never into drugs. He knew that for sure. But he would definitely have been a mess when it came to girls, maybe multiple most nights? Who knew.

Nate was also relieved he didn't have to lie anymore. Lying to his best friends had put quite a toll on Nate. Well no, it's not that he was lying, it was just he was keeping things from them. Nate wasn't the one to usually keep things from friends, or anyone for that matter, because normally he would never have been through anything like this and had nothing to hide. But with this complete foreignness happening to him, he didn't know what else to do but to hide it from them. And he didn't enjoy doing it. Every time they asked him 'hey dude, you okay?' he'd just nod, shrug them off and get on with it. But he could tell some of them knew something was up. But they never really pressured each other into telling stuff. Nate only did it rarely, take for instance with Eli when he'd gone into a complete freak out over Grace, Beau and Amelia, and he'd closed off from everyone. That was a time where Nate had to bargain with him to get something out of him. Nate hadn't completely closed people off though, so there'd been no cause of awareness from his friends. But now, now he knew there was some sort of potential here with Skye, he felt he could tell them what was going on. Then again, being where they were, in Canterbury, on Canterbury Tales, it'd be a shock if they didn't find out through the grapevine before he got the chance to tell them.

Feeling her smile into the kiss he knew she'd taken his joke the right way; if she hadn't he would have been shocked cause that would have been unlike Skye. That was the thing with her, she totally understood him. It was a defence mechanism for him to make jokes out of uncomfortable situations, and she would always laugh along with him and move on. Just like know, she knew he'd not done stuff like this before, causing the joke to come out of his mouth; and instead of pushing him away from the kiss, she just smiled and went along with it. He clearly felt her body pushing against his, making his hand reach out and take her waist for a moment causing them to pull even closer, if it were possible. As she pulled back he frowned at the loss of contact but listened as she giggled then spoke. And what she said caused his eyes to widen. She'd lied to the cameras just to do this? See most people here in Canterbury would have longed for the cameras to be there, enjoying every moment of it caught on tape. But Skye knew how much Nate didn't like the cameras watching his every moves when he wasn't in control; just like now. And she'd obviously taken that into account and managed to rid them. He let out a quick laugh, "Eh, she's probably looking for the cameras for some attention anyway," he joked back to her with a roll of the eyes; Kelly Cross was known to be an attention bitch. Pausing slightly as he took in her earlier words, he felt her release her grip on his neck, grazing her fingers down his arm then linking with his own hand. He took a quick glance down, smiling slightly as he returned to her eye line, "My roommate's out all week visiting home," he told her, obviously referring that his room was free. Squeezing her hand slightly, he took a step away from her, pulling her gently to his side as he began walking to the door. Taking in her words about the cameras, he had to think about this strategically. They still weren't properly together yet were they? And he didn't want rumours spiralling round ruining what they were having, or going to have. And so he loosened his grip on her hand completely, letting his own dangle at his side. It didn't feel right with the loss of contact. He stopped just as he reached the door, turned to look at Skye once again. Coming to his decision, he grabbed her hand again, but brought it up now, so she was linked through his arm. They'd done this plenty of times before, people would see it as a friendly thing, though to them, it'd mean a whole lot more.

those you've known

Ever since the start of Skye's friendship with Nate he'd made it clear he didn't like the cameras seeing him doing anything that wouldn't suit his "image" on the show. Skye knew she'd pretty much turned his world upside down when they became friends, since Nate wasn't used to having friends that were girls. Just the fact that she was a girl and his friend had made it pretty difficult for him to keep his "bad boy image" on the show. But Skye understood, and she'd done everything she could to help him with it. She kept their friendship private, well not private, but no one really knew how close they were. To most people they were just "buddies" who occasionally hooked up at parties and who said hello to eachother in the school hallways. The better friends they became, the harder it was to keep it entirely private. Rumours started going around, people made up crazy things, like saying Skye was pregnant with Nate's child, and that he had "feelings" for her - which did turn out to be true eventually, but at the beginning it was just insane thinking.

Skye first started noticing that people treated her differently because of Nate when guys stopped hitting on her. They hit on her, just not in the same way, as if they were scared Nate might get pissed at them for it. Like Skye was Nate's property or something. Girls started giving her dirty looks when they walked by, or they tried to be her new best friend when they had absolutely nothing at all in common. But all of that quickly changed when Skye and Isaac had officially started dating. First people were shocked, and rumours about Nate being "heart broken" had started going around. Then eventually they had all dropped it. But now, no one really knew what was exactly going on, so this would probably be a very big surprise for everyone they knew. Skye hadn't even told Bristol about breaking up with Isaac yet, Nate was the first to know, well other then Isaac himself of course.

She smiled and nodded at what he said, "Okay let's go to your room then." She said, walking over to the door with him. It was weird, but there was a slight nervous feeling in her stomach. Now that they had all the time they wanted, and no bounderies, and they would have no one watching them once in his room. How would they act around eachother? Skye had always been comfortable with Nate, no matter what was between them. Would it be just as easy now? Or would it even be easier? She couldn't help worrying about it. What if it got weird? Would that make Nate run away again? She just hoped he wouldn't. They'd gotten so far now, she didn't want to go back. She frowned as he let go of her hand, figuring it was because of the cameras. They weren't officially together or anything, and it would be way too much of a surprise if anyone caught them now. When not even their own friends knew about it, it just seemed like it'd be bad for them if the cameras got them. She walked behind him, biting her lip slightly. It felt weird not touching him now, it actually felt colder. Like when she touched him, when the spark was there, everything was perfect and she loved it, but now it felt cold and lonely. When he turned around she stopped, looking at him confused as to why he stopped walking. Then smiled big as he took her hand and linked it with his arm, that would definitely work. They'd done that plenty of times before, no one would question it. She smiled and looked around once they got out of the band room, there was no one to be seen. She took advantage of the moment, leaning in to kiss his cheek then quickly looking around again. Good, still no one there.

"Am I the only one who feels kind of.. weird?" She laughed a little, walking beside him. "I mean.. there's nothing like.. holding us back? There's usually something, something wrong. But now there's just.. nothing. It's just us." She said quietly, blushing slightly at the last few words. She realized she probably sounded a bit too girly saying stuff like that. Hopefully Nate wouldn't think it was very unlike Skye to say something like that.

WE GOT ALL THESE WORDS
CANT WASTE THEM ON ANOTHER
so i'm, straight in a straight line running back to you

For the amount of hassle the pair of them had been through for the past month, looking at both their faces right now, you wouldn't have been able to tell. All the fights, the jealousy, the boundaries; it was all finally over. They could be themselves again, no pressure. Except for the fact they were both teenagers living and going to school in probably the most gossip fueled town there was. That was going to be their major problem, all the rumours that were going to spiral around them. Nate knew there'd be plenty going around that Skye had cheated on Isaac with Nate; which was obviously far from the truth. Except for maybe doing the wrong thing and confessing his feelings to her whilst she was still with Isaac. Though, that was just at the wrong time. But then again, if he hadn't told her there and then, who knew how long it'd take for Skye to realise she didn't belong with Isaac. It took Nate's words, and admittance to his feelings for her to realise hers. But other than the confessing, the pair of them had done nothing wrong at all. They hadn't even held hands. Possibly a few hugs, but they were purely down to comforting, no matter how much emotion was behind them, it meant nothing more than that.

That was the only thing he didn't like about this situation. How out of control he was about it. He had no set plan, or agenda. Which was different for Nate. He always had some idea of what he was doing, and was always in control of it. But with Skye, this was all so new and fresh to him, he was being spontaneous and just going with what was happening. And the rumours that were going to go around were just added to this lack of control he had over it all. His image on the show meant a lot to him; he liked to keep up appearances, and he took on the roll of 'bad-boy' with ease. But with this whole new situation, he knew things were going to change. His mother would probably be pleased; no matter how many times she told him 'if you're happy, i'm happy', but he knew she didn't exactly approve of who he was becoming on the show. Multiple times she'd warn him what to do and what not to do; but Nate was smart, he knew how to twist things to his benefit.

As they left the band room, naturally Nate looked down the hall way, and the coast was clear. The cameras must have been seriously looking for Kelly Cross or they'd found someone else better to bother. Skye must be a pretty good actress if they really believed her about Kelly in the first place. Never had Skye lied to him though, so he could never vouch for that to be true. Skye was a straight talker, and he had that with her in common. Sure some could say they had been lying to each other about their feelings, but they both knew what happened. Both of them hadn't even realised what they felt, and in that time they were just in denial; not lying. As soon as Nate had truly realised his feelings for Skye, he had gone straight round and told her, no matter how awkward the situation would be after. They told each other exactly how it was; they owed it to one another. And of course, they had no reason to lie to each other.

Feeling Skye's lips upon his skin again caused the spark to reignite throughout him, a smile breaking across his face. On the walk through the hallway and out into the open, Nate once again looked around, and was surprised once again to see no cameras. They were probably in hiding somewhere, but Nate wasn't too fussed, there was nothing suspicious about them right now, they were just walking together and.. overly grinning. But whatever. Nate would have been perfectly happy walking over in the company of Skye with silence, but hearing Skye's voice made Nate turn instantly. Nate nodded willingly to what she said; it did feel weird. "But it's a good weird right?" he voiced back in response. Hearing her next words he couldn't help but agree and then think. There really was nothing holding them back, but he knew it wouldn't be easy for them. Nothing ever was. Something was bound to go wrong. And Nate couldn't help but feel guilty, cause he had a feeling he'd have something to do with it. Being so new to this, there was such a bigger risk for him to be completely suffocated and back away. But Nate knew Skye wasn't like that, he knew the two of them couldn't get like that surely? But there was still always the risk. Pushing the thoughts to the back of his mind he turned and looked at Skye once again as he walked, "It's just us," he repeated, reaching for the door to the boys block and opening it for Skye, "[b]After you.."/b] he offered jokingly, being a gentleman was far from who he usually was.

those you've known

Skye had always loved acting, ever since her mom told her about her past in the theatre world. She'd left it because she thought it was way to much drama and the whole competativeness got to her. But Skye was tougher, she wasn't afraid of competeing with someone to get a part, or to show off infront of other actors and actresses. She was confident in what she did, because she loved it so much. But ever since she got to Ellison, she really hadn't been involved with the theatre department much at all. She'd seen a few plays and stuff, but she hadn't auditioned or anything like that. When she first started, she wanted to re-invent herself, and so she dropped acting. Figuring she would pick it up again when she was all settled and comfortable with who she was and what she was doing. The problem was, she hadn't gotten to it yet. These days she used her acting skills for the cameras - showing them a girl they wanted to see, and not the person she truly was. She saved the "real Skye" for her friends and family. Strangers didn't need to see that.

She smiled at Nate as he held the door open for her, walking in she looked around. There were a few people in there, but not that many at all. Most people were probably gone for the day, since there hadn't been a lot of people at all during their classes that day, they had probably gone off somewhere else. She walked over to Nate's room. She'd been there so many times before, she had lost count of how many. But this was the first time she went there in this situation. Without being in denial about what she felt for Nate, without having any bounderies set out for her. This time, anything could happen. And seeing as it would be just the two of them, she had no idea whatsoever as to what would happen once they got behind a closed door. She didn't even know what she wanted or expected from the situation. All she knew was that she wanted to be with Nate, now when she finally could.

Once they got to the door, she casually slipped her hand into his back pocket, snatching his room key and smirking at him as she opened his door. She'd been with him when he locked and unlocked the door so many times, she knew exactly which pocket he usually put the key in. "Thank you." She smiled innocently, putting the key back in his pocket. Opening the door, she walked inside and looked around the room, it looked just as she remembered it. It was pretty weird, she hadn't been in there for quite a while now, but it still felt like yesterday. She dropped her bag by the side of his bed, sitting down on it and looking back at Nate. Now it was just the two of them. Finally completely alone.

WE GOT ALL THESE WORDS
CANT WASTE THEM ON ANOTHER
so i'm, straight in a straight line running back to you

The block was actually quite empty, and very quiet. Usually you could hear someone's music playing, or even multiple. But tonight there was just a calm lul throughout the building. Maybe there was an event on that night that neither Nate or Skye knew about? Or maybe people were just visiting home. Since the vacation most kids had gone home for a bit to see their families, other than the one's that lived completely out of town who just hung around on campus. Nate had rung his mom on the journey from the airport back to campus, in which he was teased by Eli and Max for 'missing his mommy'. Beau had just grinned throughout it, as he was close to his mother himself, so he understood. When he got back to his room Nate text his dad saying he got back safely, and that was that. He planned to go see his parents this weekend, his mom through Friday to Saturday, and his dad on the Sunday. That was the thing about having divorced parents, having to completely split his time in half. But it was worth it to see them both.

The divorce of his parents had quite clearly affected him in more ways than one. But the most prominent one had obviously been his lack in belief of commitment. Seeing his parents, the most happiest people he knew, break up from a marriage, seemingly not loving each other in that way anymore, it broke him. It made him just realise, if they can't do it, who can?! And that's how he just went on. Most people thought the way he was, was just cause of his lack of respect for women. He respected women; he didn't treat them too badly. Sure he used them to get what he wanted, but he didn't do it to purposely hurt them. He had the male role model of his father to look up to, and he'd always treated his mother well. There was hardly any arguing between the Hart's either. It just didn't work out. And that's what led to Nate's change of attitude when it came to commitment and love. And it'd take a lot to change him

Ironically what pulled him out of his thoughts was the person that had changed him. Skye. Feeling her reach into his back pocket, where he always kept his roomkey, she pulled the object out, causing him to break out in yet another smile, narrowing his eyes to her feigning innocence. Rolling his eyes now, he watched her walk into his room, glad he'd unpacked all his stuff from the Bahamas so his room was pretty tidy right now. As she sat down on his bed Nate followed her in, looking around now as to where to sit. He wanted to sit next to her obviously, but they needed to talk, and the likelihood of actually talking with them sat directly next to each other would be unlikely. Heading over to his desk, pulling out the chair from beneath and sitting down to face her. Clearly his throat he leaned forward in his chair, thinking about what he was going to say next. He had plenty of questions to ask, but choosing the right one's would be the problem. "So uh.. how did he take it?" he asked first, giving a broad question to start, obviously referring to Isaac.

those you've known

Skye had always been kind of proud of herself to be basically the only girl except Amelia Lindberg that Nate didn't see as "just another girl". He actually talked to her about important things, and he listened to her. It made her feel special, especially since according to everyone else she knew Nate didn't befriend girls, at all. But even though she knew Nate would probably always tell her the truth and answer questions she asked him about himself, she avoided doing it. Skye was a firm believer in the whole "if someone wants to talk about it, they'll talk about it" theory. Nate had mentioned his parents a few times, but she didn't really know that much about them at all. Except that they were divorced, and that he was still in contact with them both. Skye had never known her dad, she actually didn't even know her dad's name. Her mom had left it up to her to decide if she wanted to find him, but she chose not to. She didn't need anyone else then her mom, which was plenty parent enough for Skye.

She smiled a little as Nate sat down in his desk chair, figuring he chose to sit there for the same reason she'd hoped he would. They weren't really known for their self control, more the lack of it. At least Skye was, but seeing as everytime she'd spent the night with Nate, he'd been just as bad at the whole self-control thing, she figured he was the same way. But who knew, maybe she just brought it out while being with him. "Well.. he took it.. good. I mean, he was actually going to end it with me also." Skye couldn't help but laugh a little at how clueless both her and Isaac had been, their entire relationship was like a game. Both of them were in denial of their feelings for their bestfriends, and so found comfort in being in a relationship with the other, instead of facing their true feelings.

"I think he's in love with Natalie, and we ended it as friends." She bit her lip slightly, pulling up her legs underneath her, hoping Nate wouldn't think it was weird or bad that Skye and Isaac had decided on being friends. After all, there had been no true feelings between them, there had been feelings, but nothing that would ever come close to the way Skye felt about Nate. It was like a whole other univers, what her and Isaac had had with eachother. "He knew it was coming, I think, and I told him about you.. and it wasn't bad at all. He understood." She smiled a little, still pretty nervous how Nate would take everything she was saying right now. Maybe he wanted to hear about a big messy break up where Isaac had been devestated, because that would make it more obvious Skye had chosen to be with Nate. But she still had made her choice, and went to find Isaac. She was the one who brought up the break up, it was just a very lucky coincidence that he was feeling the same.

WE GOT ALL THESE WORDS
CANT WASTE THEM ON ANOTHER
so i'm, straight in a straight line running back to you

Nate actually enjoyed being just friends with Skye. He didn't really have that with anyone else that was a girl. There was Amelia of course, but they didn't have so much in common that he could describe her as a close friend. He'd known her pretty much as long as he'd known Eli, so over ten years. She really was like a little sister to him, and so not only cause Eli would kick the shit out of him (take Beau Stratus for instance), but also, he couldn't even look at Mia in any other way; she was just his sister like friend and nothing more. Whereas with Skye, obviously they'd started out with a hook up, so clearly, even though a friendship blossomed out of it, there was always something underlying between them. But it was nice having a girl as a friend. Skye wasn't like a 'wingman' or anything when it came to girls, she never gave him tips, mainly cause he didn't need them; but they never really talked about stuff like that. Sure they teased each other every so often, but it was more about the friendship side of things. And he hoped that he'd still have that with her no matter what happened in the future.

Nate was glad she hadn't taken the wrong way, not that she would. But there was the risk of pushing her, what if she didn't want to talk about what had happened with Isaac? Was it really any of Nate's business? Sure he thought so, but she may think otherwise. See, Nate didn't really know how it worked with girls on an emotional level. He knew how to treat them nicely to get what he wanted, but after that he was gone. All the experience he had had was with Skye, and most times she'd cried, or they'd argued, for one reason or another. And he didn't want either of those to happen again. Raising his eyebrows at her response of Isaac's reaction, he leant back in his seat, "Well.. that's a shocker," he replied, letting out a breath of air from his mouth in a slight laugh. It was a shock, he really hadn't seen that coming.

It shocked it even more when she carried on talking. "Natalie was that oen you said he was spending time with on vacation right?" he brought his hand up to scratch the back of his chin, "Man, I did not see this coming," he laughed a little louder this time. "But that's good, Isaac.. well he was an okay guy," he admitted, shrugging lightly. Sure, Nate didn't particularly like the guy, but that was only cause he was jealous and bitter. Isaac had not even done anything wrong, he'd always treated Skye well, as far as Nate knew, so there was no reason to dislike him really. Especially since Skye explained Isaac understood. He didn't know how much Skye had told him, and he didn't even really want to know. The fact Isaac understood made Nate respect him more than he had done before, a lot more. And Nate was glad everything had been sorted amicably, it meant less drama. And Nate didn't enjoy drama. Nate dropped his hand from the back of his neck, he didn't really know what to do or say next.He didn't even feel it necessary to go on about Isaac; if she wanted to tell him more, she would right? "So uh.. what else have I missed in Skye world?" he asked, inwardly cringing at his question. What was he even doing? Sure he'd missed out on a lot of her recently, so there was probably a lot he need to catch up on, but now? It was probably the most awkward he had felt, not knowing what to do next, causing that question to fall out his lips.

those you've known

The way Nate was taking the conversation was kind of surprising for Skye. Not even sure why, but she'd expected more of his "jealousy" towards Isaac to show. But just the fact that he was sitting there, saying Isaac was an okay guy, made her realize how much he'd grown in just this past month when they'd been through.. hell. At least that was how Skye felt about it. She'd hated it so much to be away from Nate, not being able to call him to tell him she saw some dumb blonde tripping over her own shoe lace while walking out of starbucks - which had actually happened once and the first and only person Skye could talk about it to had been Nate. He accepted her hysterical laughing at it, even though there wasn't really anything that hysterically funny about it.. but Skye's sense of humour was a bit twisted. She'd laugh at things no one else laughed at, and she was definitely leaning more towards "guy humour" then girl humour. Which annoyed her mom incredibly.

She couldn't help but laugh at his question, it was so.. unlike Nate, but at the same time so very Nate to ask something like that. She smirked at him, thinking over her response. "Oh you know, crazy partying with Bristol and the rest in the bahamas, seeing this guy I know at the club, and he actually followed me out! It was really creepy." She fake gasped to make her story sound much more horrifying, then winked at him, hoping he'd understand she was joking about the time they met at the club. She really hadn't been doing a lot since they stopped hanging out. Mostly she'd been with Isaac, watching movies and doing.. nothing. Or she'd been dragged along to some boring party she didn't want to go to, or sleeping in her dorm. When Skye was upset, she was really upset. She didn't go out and she definitely didn't act like herself anymore, mostly she just stayed in her room, alone, feeling sorry for herself. Even those times when she'd been the reason for her own unhappiness, she'd blame it on the world.

She watched him for a moment, smiling a little bit still, then got up and walked over to his chair, sitting down in his lap and placing her arms around his neck. "As cheesy as this is going to sound, I need to tell you something." She smiled, doing her best not to get embarrassed or start blushing, "I want you to know that I'm really happy. And that I don't regret breaking it off with Isaac at all. Because this is where I want to be. With you." She said quietly, choosing her words carefully. She looked down from his eyes for a moment, trying to stay as calm and focused as she'd managed to be for the last few moments. She'd never really been good with feelings, but right now she felt like she needed to assure him she wouldn't regret her desicion, she wanted to be with Nate. Not with Isaac, and if he'd ever doubt that, she just hoped she'd find out so she could convince him he didn't have to doubt anything.

WE GOT ALL THESE WORDS
CANT WASTE THEM ON ANOTHER
so i'm, straight in a straight line running back to you

Nate was a complete lad's lad. Meaning he was a boyish and tended to put his guy friends before anyone. He had a close tight nit group of friends including Eli, Beau and Max. Although Beau could probably give him a run for his money, the two of them ran with the 'bad boy' nickname well. While Max and Eli were probably the more gentlemanly of the group. Beau was more into the drugs and alcohol side of the bad boy thing, whereas Nate was clearly into the using girls to get what he wanted. And though all four of those guys knew him best, even they would be sat here shocked at how he was with Skye. Sure they'd all seen him with girl's, but usually they had been hook up's, and they'd all seen him with Skye on multiple occasions, they all knew the pair of them were best friends, but they'd never seen him like this. He was actually nervous, and feeling slightly awkward; he was new to all this.

Just as he had thought, Skye laughed at what he said, making him cringe even more inside. Of course it wasn't a nasty laugh, he knew that, but it still made him feel awkward. As if to correct her laugh she answered his question obligingly. Her last statement about what she'd been up to made him close his eyes, burying his face into his hands for a moment letting out a groan. Sitting back up just as quickly, he decided to match her smirk with his own, deciding to go with what she said. He then rolled his eyes as she fake gasped and winked at him. "Wow you had a crazy incident at the club too?! Some chick came over one night at slapped me for no reason!" he paused, holding his hands up in front of him, "I was totally innocent," he added with a grin. It was good they could joke about things, and so fast afterwards as well. Though he really wasn't surprised, they probably could look back on everything that had happened in the past and laugh about it now, cause that's just how they were.

Nate felt a buzz rush through his body as soon as she made any slight movement, and when he realized she was actually coming over to him he couldn't help but feel slightly nervous. He knew what he wanted to do, he knew what he could do. And it didn't help that there was so much pent up tension between the two, so much waiting, so many boundaries. But now there was none. Well, no, there was one. He didn't want to push her. No matter how long she had had feelings for Nate, she still had only stopped dating Isaac a couple of days ago; and he didn't want to risk that. And the worst thing was, he knew he was only good at one thing, and he had a feeling if he wasn't careful, he could relapse into doing the same thing again with Skye. So far, he'd actually surprised himself, and done everything right, or as far as he thought it was right. Luckily she didn't put her face too close to his when she sat down on his lap, cause that would have cause ultimate distraction anyway, but she was still near to him with her arms around his neck. He wasn't even expecting any words to come out of her mouth, but when they did, and he heard what she had to say, he was shocked. He knew he felt what she had to say anyway, but it was nice hearing them; it was a nice confidence boost to him, and not in the direction of his ego, but more into the part of him he was most scared and nervous about. He didn't even know what to say, but he looked up to her now, catching her flushed cheeks in his eye sight. He reached out his left hand, cupping her cheek slightly and spoke, "You're cute when you blush," he said, not really meaning to, but not regretting it anyway. Biting his bottom lip, it obvious that that was not what she had wanted to hear though. Gulping down some nerves, he released his lip, "Good, cause.. I-.. I want you here with me too," he responded, just above a whisper, as he realised their faces had become closer. He knew what he said was weirdly worded, but he hoped she understood. Smiling slightly, he looked her directly in the eye now, losing as much of the nerves he had right now, he leaned forward and upward, pushing his hand backward and into her hair, pulling her face down slightly, so their lips could meet once again.
