jaxton was born in hanover, germany, to seamstress mother katalina kristoph, and businessman aldo kristoph. when he was just under one year old, they moved from their home to los angeles, california. kristoph's mother had dreams of becoming a high end fashion designer. "she always thought she would make it big [in L.A.] that it's actually kind of cute to look back on now. it was annoying as a kid to have to be her mannequin, but i don't resent her for it. she had a dream... don't we all?" his father continued with his line of work in los angeles and his mother opened her own shop in the basement of their home. <p>
jaxton attended public schools (namely beverly hills high school) though he was raised a roman catholic. his parents were very old fashioned, and sent him to sunday school. it was not until he was fifteen when he decided he was no longer going to sunday school. said the comedian, “it was difficult telling them that i chose not to [go to sunday school] anymore... i had to sit them down and tell them that i wasn’t interested in continuing that, and that i wanted to be a comedian. they nearly died.” he also told them that he had been skipping sunday school for two years at that point, and instead he went to acting classes. he said that his consequences were "harsh and totally uncalled for" but he understood why they punished him. <p>
kristoph continued his post-secondary education at ucla school of theater, film, and television, still wanting to achieve his dream of becoming an actor. while studying at ucla, he auditioned for a role on a late night comedic sketch show,
live from los angeles, and consequently earned the part in 2007.

in 2007, jaxton took to his twitter account to announce he was a father. the mother of his son, jericho, is still unknown, and hardly ever is he seen. when asked in a 2008 interview with people, he said, “[jericho]’s just a kid, a baby. he doesn’t need to be seen by the entire world. he is my son; it’s not like everyone in the world is his adoptive parent.” <p>
in early 2008, just after jaxton first started out on the sketch show, rumours were circulating about a possible drug addiction that he had. qith the photographic evidence to prove his cocaine use, kristoph has denied the accusations, and has only spoken out about it once in an interview in gq in late 2009 where he was quoted saying, “what i do and what i don’t do is my business, and my business only. it has nothing to do with anyone besides me. i’m here to act and entertain people with that. my personal life is not to be used for that.” <p>
in 2011, jericho's mother was revealed after she was seen exiting kristoph's los angeles home one morning. when the pictures surfaced online, it was reported that jaxton "had a fit" and was "in a mood" the entire day at work. apparently, the woman in question worked as part of the music production crew for
live in los angeles and he refused to be anywhere near her. she fought for full custody of jericho in june 2011, but was rewarded only partial custody because she would be unable to support their son on her own. <p>
after the release of one of his indie films that he had written and produced himself in late june/early july 2011, the rumours resurfaced of apparent drug usage. jaxton was cornered, after pictures of three separate occasions were leaked online to one gossip blog. kristoph canceled the rest of his public appearances for the press tour for his film. <p>
it was first reported that in late july/early august of 2011, kristoph had checked into a rehabilitation facility. his reps have since confirmed that it is for a cocaine addiction, and subsequent side effects. he lost his position on
live in los angeles. <p>
after he was admitted to the treatment facility, his custody agreements were being reconsidered by the los angeles courts. they gave him until the end of july 2012 to show he was clean of drugs and fit to raise a child. in march of 2012, he was given a clean bill of health, and he left the treatment facility. since then, he had gained full custody of jericho because the mother was unable to financially support herself and their son. <p>
in april 2012, kristoph had been reportedly in a series of bar fights after one of his films was not picked up by production company. his reps have denied these allegations, releasing this statement: "jaxton has not had an alcoholic beverage since before his stint in rehab. he is constantly being monitored by the los angeles court system to make sure he is not breaching his custody agreements and relapsing. these are merely rumours started by someone to disallow him the rights to his own son." <p>
in late june 2012, it was reported that there was a moving truck outside of his los angeles home, although his parents still live there. kristoph was said to be seen in canterbury, connecticut.

jaxton began his acting career on the saturday night comedy show called
live from los angeles in mid-2008, and has sustained a role on the show as a weekly cast member in various skits until august of 2011. he is most commonly known for his trekkie skit, where he plays an obsessive star trek nerd. he is dressed to the nines in classic "nerd gear" and has the nasally voice to top it all off. if it were up to him, kristoph said he would have "never have chosen the character" and he actually "hates how close it resembles his life." after he was admitted to a rehabilitation clinic, reps for the show have said, "jaxton had a great three-year run on the show and we will continue to support his future endeavours, and hope he makes a guest appearance in the future." <p>
in 2009, it was reported he would be doing his first movie role in a romantic comedy. he plays a texan who moves to new york city to experience the “city life” and ends up bumping into the female lead, a young law attorney, at a convention for people who love to travel. they wind up in miami, florida, with a strange man they have never met before, and a lot of questions about how they got where they were. kristoph was praised for his breakout role, and the film has won several awards, and not just on kristoph’s behalf. <p>
in july of 2011, his first film,
bonafide superstar, was released. he wrote and appeared in the film that won a mtv movie award and various other awards at different award shows. <p>
it is rumoured that kristoph has a new comedic film in the works, though he hasn’t spoken out about it. it is said he is writing the script and casting, but as of now, nothing has been said on his part.
