Description: tips and tricks to help to study

Hello, World! :)

Portuguese in Brazil is really easy if you want just start speak in weeks with people around and not pass exams or write books..

I would like to gather some essential and maximum compressed information that is needed to start to speak and learn the language during a communication.

So,

Verbs with times:
to view - it's opened for Tudo Mundo

link for same page to correct (for teachers):
to edit and enrich - it needs to be logged with @.net account

Basic word set to learn:
Amzing page, without any redundant information - just TOP used words list

Testes and games:
To improve a knowledge base and enrich your vocabulary

In brazilian portuguese exists amazing word "gente", that signifies:
- people
- we
- a person

In my experience to start speaking it is needed to remember only 2 forms of verbs:
1. eu quero, eu entendo == I want, I undersand
2. você/ele/ela quer, você/ele/ela entende == you/he/she want, you// understand

And by usage magic "gente" (same form as for você) we will have next:
gente quer == we(our company) want;
gente (meus amigos) quer = guys (my friends) want;
gente entende == we understand, they understand.

So, only You(plural) is not covered at all - but we can use 2 tricks to solve it:
1) split group for one person and "gente":
você e gente quer == you and guys want
você e gente entende == you and guys understand

2) or use "gente" to address to group:
- Gente, gente! Gente entende? = Folk, Folk! Do you understand?
- Sim = yes
- Que legal! Gente entende! = Cool! Guys understand!

(Gente, correct me if this form is very incorrect. I used it many time and people understood me... I hope..:))

And Future:
Eu vou ...
Você/ele/gente vai ...

Vou querer = I will want
Você vai entender = you(one) will understand
aaaand!..:
Gente vai entender = WE will understand
OR = THEY will undersnand
OR = YOU(all) will understand
- all depends on intonation and context only!

And Past:
no magic.. I studied with next way:
"eu quero.. ehrm.. em passado..? como falar?.."
"eu entendo. não.. eu ...ehhh... em passado eu..?? que eu fiz?" and people answer: "você entendeu e eu entendi." -"Agardeço! então.. - eu entendi.... bla-bla.."
:P

só isso, só isso..

If it will help anyone - I will be very glad!

p.s.
Gente, eu entendo que isso não é português, é uma coisa que está muito doente. Mas por gente começa falar, isso poderia ajudar. Eu acho. :)
Obrigado!

Hey Sergio :D

Just a quick help with the past:

Eu quero = Eu queria (works both as the past "I wanted to visit São Paulo = Eu queria visitar São Paulo" and as a conditional statement "I would want to visit São Paulo, if I had money/time = Eu queria visitar SP se eu tivesse dinheiro ou tempo")

Eu entendo -> Eu entendi / Eu não entendi o que você disse (I understood/didn't understand what you said).

I am not sure if you know it, but this site may interest you:

It is sort of a social network for people learning other languages, for a few of them they even offer free courses and materials (Brazilian PT is one of them). I haven't used it much, but it seems to have enough content and people to talk to make it worth a try :)

....disagree with myself totally, it's not portugues at all.

But it works... :)

the biggest error is there is word "agente" that means We,
and this word normally asks 1 form plurar:

Agente vamos para festa!

and other thing, when we address to the group it's needed to use 2nd form plural:

Gente! O que vocês fazem.

But "it's so nice accent...", so these wrong simples rules I wrote in first message for person who doesn't speak portugues at all really do help!

Proved by me :ph43r:
:P
