4:00 P.M.-4:02 P.M., Kuala Lumpur: Agent Victor Rovner is transmitting data over his computer, just as "they" come knocking.

12:02 A.M.-12:03 A.M., Los Angeles: Agent Richard Walsh receives a call that Senator Palmer is being targeted by terrorists, while Palmer is on the balcony of his hotel room headquarters writing his campaign speech with Patty, his manager.

12:03 A.M.-12:07 A.M.: Kimberly tells Jack she's glad he moved back in and smoothed over apparent problems with Teri. After Kimberly goes to bed, Jack and Teri talk about how she doesn't like her mother, and plays her parents against each other. They both soon discover she snuck out. Finding her has to wait when Jack receives a call from his co-worker, Agent Nina Myers. Nina says Walsh has called him to a meeting. Jack calls Kimberly's ex, Vincent, on the way to his car. No matter how much Jack threatens the kid, Vincent says she's not there.

12:07 A.M.-12:09 A.M.: Kimberly and her friend Janet are in Janet's car, on their way to see Janet's friends, Dan and Rick, for some action. From his car, Jack calls Nina to ask what Walsh wants. Nina doesn't know. Neither does anyone else.

12:09 A.M.-12:12 A.M., Outside the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU), Jack calls Teri to ask her to go easy on Kimberly when she gets home. Teri wants to take her to a therapist. Inside, Jack meets with Nina and Agent Tony Almeida. While waiting for Walsh, Tony worries if they screen Palmer, people will think it's because he's black, which it is. Kimberly and Janet arrive at the furniture store where Dan works. Kimberly meets Rick, her fix-up. They all have a party and trash the place.

12:12 A.M.-12:20 A.M.: Reporter Maureen Kingsley is on the news making the announcement that polls open at 7:00 A.M., and Palmer is expected to clinch the election. Walsh gets there, and tells Jack and the rest of CTU that a foreign power -- presumably a hate group -- is after Palmer, so they should do a check on all of Palmer's foreign co-workers. Walsh has a private meeting with Jack to say there may be a connection inside the agency. Jack doesn't want to point fingers at his friends, but since he's the only guy Walsh can trust, Walsh coaxes him into it. The last thing he tells Jack is that the District Director, George Mason, is on his way to brief him. And to trust no one. Meanwhile, a suspicious foreign man is on a plane bound for Los Angeles.

12:22 A.M.-12:25 A.M.: Patty receives a call from photographer Martin -- the suspicious foreign man -- who says he'll be there in an hour. He asks if he'll see Palmer at breakfast later. Patty says he will. An equally suspicious woman sitting next to him is intrigued that he's meeting Palmer.

12:25 A.M.-12:29 A.M.: Jack tells Nina that he's meeting Mason alone, but she's not happy that he's hiding the rest of the story from her. Teri calls Jack because she found drugs in Kimberly's room. Jack suggests Teri snoop in Kimberly's email, but they don't know the password. While Kimberly and Rick get to know each other better, she tells him that she's trying to get over the recent death of her father. George Mason arrives at headquarters, and explains to Jack that the terrorist is likely German and will be in L.A. today, if he isn't already. He gives Jack a clearance card that will get him in anywhere, and shares some additional info -- Palmer's no friend of the agency. But he refuses to say who gave him the card when Jack asks.

12:29 A.M.-12:34 A.M.: Mason pretends to give in to Jack's wishes to call his superior to find out whose card it was. After Jack eavesdrops on the call (to the operator), he shoots Mason with a tranquilizer dart, which he lets Nina witness. Jack confides that he suspects Mason of stealing seized money from a drug bust. He gives Nina Mason's card, and coaxes her into getting some good blackmail info before he comes to.

12:38 A.M.-12:40 A.M.: Alan York, Janet's father, calls Teri, because he found her number in Janet's rolodex. He doesn't know where she is, and suspects the two girls are together. Nina can't get the info Jack wants, as the account is encrypted. Jack thinks Tony can, and wants Nina to ask.

12:40 A.M.-12:43 A.M.: Nina asks Tony to hack the account. Tony grudgingly asks if she's still sleeping with Jack. Even though they were dirty, he resents Jack for turning in his own people. Jack gets CTU hacker Jamey to find out Kimberly's email password. It's "lifesucks," which he gives Teri over the phone. Kimberly and Rick have struck a match. But not so much as Janet and Dan, who are doing it in one of the store's beds.

12:43 A.M.-12:46 A.M.: Martin and the suspicious woman are striking up a match of their own. Palmer takes a break from his speech to spend time with his wife, Sherry. Maureen Kingsley calls Palmer for a response to an incriminating allegation she plans to air. Sherry wants to know what's up, but the concerned senator turns silent.

12:49 A.M.-12:52 A.M.: Nina worries that Jack, who should be patching things up with his family, could wind up in jail. Jack puts himself in the shoes of the so-called bad guys he ratted out. They compromised once, and now so has he. Teri calls Alan back with the contents of Kimberly's email, which reveal where the girls went. Kimberly, Janet, Dan and Rick are about to go to another party, until Kimberly sees Teri left a message. She wants to go home, so Dan says he'll drop her off.

12:52 A.M.-12:57 A.M.: Martin and the suspicious woman are making like Janet and Dan, albeit vertically, in the airplane's bathroom. After they're done, the woman introduces herself as Mandy. Jack gets his evidence against Mason, and wakes him up to say that if he doesn't reveal who tipped off the Palmer hit, he'll rat him out too. Mason reveals, then leaves. While Martin is dozing off, Mandy steals his wallet, takes out a stewardess, gets her bag, puts on a flight suit, starts a timed bomb on the plane, and blasts herself safely out the exit door seconds before the plane explodes.

12:57 A.M.-1:00 A.M.: As Teri and Alan are driving to the Valley to try to find the girls, Jack calls to find out what's up, but something kills the call before he learns much. He has to put family matters on hold again when Tony tells him a 747 just exploded over the Mojave Desert, probably due to a bomb. Jack wants Walsh and the passenger list. Kimberly freaks when Dan deliberately goes the opposite direction of her house, and refuses to tell her where he's headed. Dan is so high that he nearly crashes into another car -- Alan's. Mandy's parachute opens. Tick, tick, tick...

1:02 A.M.-1:07 A.M.: Mandy lands in the Mojave Desert. CTU can't get a hold of Walsh. Tony wants to know what went on between Jack and Mason. Nina concocts a story to shut him up. Mandy buries Martin's ID, attached to a homing receiver, before an accomplice picks her up. A mysterious motorcyclist uses a homing device to recover the ID. Tony knows Nina was lying and confronts her, but she won't talk.

1:07 A.M.-1:09 A.M.: Teri and Alan arrive at the furniture store, and find evidence that the girls were there -- a condom. Still held captive in Dan's van, Kimberly negates her previous story that her dad is dead by telling the guys he's a government agent. They don't care and Janet is too out of it from roofies to help.

1:09 A.M.-1:12 A.M.: Walsh meets secretly with Scott, a nervous CTU agent, who gives him a key card that has the added bonus of containing a lot of secret info about Palmer. Scott fears for his life and wants out of it, but Walsh talks him into helping out for another 24 hours. That time is cut short when an unseen assailant opens fire at the two, killing Scott and injuring Walsh in the arm. Walsh calls Jack and begs him to come to Dunlop Plaza and help him, but another shot rings out and the call goes silent.

1:17 A.M.-1:20 A.M.: While en route to the plaza, Jack calls Teri back. She wants him to come help out, but he has to help Walsh. Teri and Alan plan to wait at the furniture store until the girls return. Rick begs Kimberly to just go along with what they're doing and lets it slip about "these people" they're doing it for. Janet starts choking, but Dan won't stop the car -- even for Rick.

1:20 A.M.-1:22 A.M.: Palmer and Sherry see the 747 explosion on the news. Palmer still won't tell his wife what Maureen Kingsley said.

1:22 A.M.-1:23 A.M.: Mandy and accomplice arrive at the secluded house of Gaines, who gives her a briefcase full of cash and asks for the ID. She says he'll get it soon.

1:23 A.M.-1:24 A.M.: Jack gets to the plaza and calls Nina for an entry code. Tony is monitoring Jack and Nina as he reads a chat transcript of their call on his computer.

1:29 A.M.-1:31 A.M.: Jack finds Walsh. Before they try to make their way out, Walsh says there were at least two shooters, but Jack found no one else. In Gaines' bathroom, Mandy comes face to face with another accomplice who, through the magic of plastic surgery, has been transformed into the spitting image of Martin (albeit with blonde hair). And he plans to kill Palmer.

1:31 A.M.-1:36 A.M.: Tony confronts Nina a second time. She lies again and reminds him she's his superior. Tony makes a veiled threat that she isn't after they punch out. On the stairs of the plaza, Jack crafts a tourniquet for Walsh's arm from his tie. Though Jack disagrees, Walsh blames himself. The two plan their safe exit from the building, but run into the assailants. They manage to kill two of them without getting hit. Jack takes a souvenir from one of the bodies -- a thumb.

1:36 A.M.-1:38 A.M.: The mysterious motorcyclist arrives at Gaines' place. She is supposed to hand over Martin's ID, but instead just hands over a Polaroid of it because she wants more money. Gaines orders his accomplice to shoot her, but thinks better of it when he realizes he won't get the ID if he kills her before it's in his possession.

1:42 A.M.-1:44 A.M.: Teri calls Jack so he can help her and Alan get the store owner's number, but he's turned his phone off. So she calls Nina to do it. Nina doesn't want to, but caves in.

1:44 A.M.-1:45 A.M.: The Palmers' kids, Keith and Nicole, arrive back at their hotel room. One of Palmer's aides calls him and Palmer demands he come over now because of Maureen Kingsley.

1:45 A.M.-1:48 A.M.: As Teri and Alan clean up the mess the kids made, Teri mentions her temporary separation with Jack, to which Alan replies that his ex took off and never returned. Nina retrieves the number and calls back Teri with it. Teri calls the owner, but he isn't there, so she leaves a message to come over to the store ASAP. Agent Aaron Pierce shows up at the Palmers' hotel room looking for the senator, but he's gone. Sherry wants to know what's up. Pierce says they've been asked to add another layer of security because there's expected to be an attack on his life today. Outside, Palmer gets in his car and drives off.

1:53 A.M.-1:54 A.M.: As Jack and Walsh try to escape the plaza, Walsh gets shot again. He knows it's the end for him, so he hands Jack Scott's card to give it to Jamey, who can tell him who the dirty agent is. Jack takes it just as Walsh is killed by another round. Jack makes it to his car, leaving Walsh's body behind.

1:54 A.M.-1:56 A.M.: In his car, Jack calls Jamey and tells her to phone Division to have Walsh's and Scott's bodies picked up. When he inquires about the card, Jamey tells him to use his car's mobile scanner to transmit the data to her.

1:56 A.M.-2:00 A.M.: Dan pulls the van over and orders Kimberly out. Dan demands she call her mother and say she's fine and is just at a party. When Kimberly resists, Dan goes to hurt her but Rick stops him, reminding him that Gaines (these people) said not to. So instead Dan takes a crowbar and hurts Janet to get Kimberly to do as told. Teri wants to pick up the girls herself, but Kimberly obviously refuses. After she hangs up, Dan orders her back into the van. Teri suspects something is wrong because Kimberly said "I love you" during the call, which she never says. Jamey gets a match on the card which only Jack's eyes can see -- Nina Myers. Teri and Alan leave the store as Jack and Kimberly are both on the road. The Martin Belkin lookalike practices his aim with an egg. Tick, tick, tick...

2:02 A.M.-2:05 A.M.: On the road, Jack calls data services to scan in the print from the assailant's thumb and get a match. Teri calls Jack to say she heard from Kimberly. He's furious that Teri couldn't find out where Kimberly is and that she isn't planning to wait for the girls to return at the furniture store, as Alan didn't think it was a good idea. Jack makes Teri put Alan on the phone, so he can give him a piece of his mind.

2:05 A.M.-2:08 A.M.: Gaines has a raging fit at Mandy for involving motorcyclist Bridgit, who has since talked her into wanting an extra million. Gaines claims there is no more money and demands Mandy talk Bridgit back down. Martin's lookalike, Jonathan, tells Gaines he needs to get out of here. Gaines says it'll just be a little longer. At Palmer headquarters, Sherry reminds Agent Pierce this is hardly the first death threat Palmer has gotten since he announced running. Keith wants to look for his father, but Pierce tells him to stay indoors as he could be in danger himself.

2:08 A.M.-2:10 A.M.: Gaines calls Dan to confirm they've got Kimberly, and says to wait as he's running late. Rick fears Dan broke Janet's arm. Dan laughs it off, but when Kimberly begs Rick to take Janet to a doctor, he goes against Dan's wishes, cuts into his stash, and shoots her up.

2:14 A.M.-2:17 A.M.: Senator Palmer pulls in to a parking lot where teenagers are bashing cars with baseball bats. He confronts the hoodlums, who want $100 out of him. When he won't pay up, one of the kids tries to bash him, but he grabs the bat. The other teen then recognizes who they're talking to and asks what is he going to do for them. Palmer warns them if they keep it up, they'll be dead soon so maybe they should do for themselves. The first teen takes his bat and smashes Palmer's rear window before the pair walk away laughing.

2:17 A.M.-2:23 A.M.: Back at CTU, Jack calls Nina and asks her to print up a copy of the passenger list that Tony secured. He also wants to talk to her in private. Next, he sees Jamey and asks if the bodies have been picked up, which they have. Jamey learns one was Walsh. Jack trusts Jamey with the info Walsh gave him, and gives her the keycard he transmitted to her earlier so she can pull all the data off it. But she thinks it could take hours to do that, and Palmer's day begins at 6:00 AM. Also, Jack needs to be absolutely certain it was Nina's computer from which the data was downloaded. Jack bumps into Tony, who notices that Jack's hand is bleeding. Tony says he's checking the passenger list, which he gave to Nina. Finally, Jack sees Nina, who says one of the names on the list triggered a red flag. Nina wants answers, but Jack only asks if it's possible someone within the agency is involved in the plot. Jack asks if she's seeing Tony, which she doesn't appreciate. Jamey calls Jack; she's confirmed that the files definitely came from Nina's computer. Jack tells Nina to send the passenger list to Division. Data services calls Jack to say they couldn't come up with any print matches. Either the man doesn't exist or his identity was erased.

2:27 A.M.-2:32 A.M.: Mandy tells Bridgit to hand over the ID if she doesn't want to get both of them killed. Bridgit says she's doing it for both of them, and believes neither Gaines nor anybody can hurt them -- and they'll each have a million to show for it. Oh yeah, and they're also lesbian lovers. Inside Dan's van, Janet regains consciousness but doesn't remember what's happened until Kimberly fills her in. Dan and Rick are away from the van smoking a joint, so Kimberly takes Janet and makes a run for it. Dan and Rick soon follow in hot pursuit. Jamey wants to know from Jack if Nina is a traitor and should she close off her access, but Jack doesn't want her to. Jamey knows he and Nina were seeing each other and asks if Jack told her anything confidential that he shouldn't have. Jack thinks about it, and tells Jamey to close off Nina's access.

2:32 A.M.-2:34 A.M.: Kimberly and Janet hide out in an alley, where they scare off a male prostitute's trick (who wasn't too keen on getting a BJ with them watching). The prostitute's angry at losing a sale, but covers for Kimberly and Janet anyway when Dan and Rick catch up. Gaines calls Dan to say they're now meeting at a new location. The prostitute ransacks the girls' belongings to cover for lost wages and then leaves. The girls make their getaway.

2:39 A.M.-2:41 A.M.: Palmer meets with Carl, the person he called earlier, to say he learned from Maureen Kingsley that a Gibson boy who raped Nicole didn't commit suicide, but was thrown out of a window -- by Keith. That's what she's going public with. Palmer believes it's a lie and wants to know the source. Carl tells him he'll take care of everything, so just go back and forget about it. The agents show up to reclaim the senator, and Carl departs.

2:41 A.M.-2:43 A.M.: Kimberly and Janet are stuck in the alley with Dan and Rick still in the area. They run into the prostitute again in his "home." Kimberly begs for help and a phone. Jealous that they're rich, the prostitute pulls a knife and chases them out.

2:43 A.M.-2:48 A.M.: Jack throws Nina into a wall and confronts her with the card, demanding to know who she works for. Nina says she works for him. Gaines gives in and forks over the extra million in exchange for the ID. Kimberly and Janet are cornered in a warehouse by Dan. They exit back into the alley and find a pimp who's talking on his cell phone. Kimberly begs for some help, but the pimp attacks her. The prostitute intervenes with a board and bashes the pimp, yelling at the girls to take his phone and run. While they do that, the pimp wrestles the board away from the prostitute and bashes him with it, as Dan and Rick get there.

2:52 A.M.-2:56 A.M.: Tony sees over the computer that Walsh is dead. Jamey plays dumb and fakes shock when Tony shows her. Tony wants her help, but she says she's helping Jack at the moment. Jack calls Jamey about the data. She's almost got it all. Tony knows something's up. Gaines, Mandy and Bridgit drive into the woods. Bridgit recovers the ID and gives it to Gaines. Mandy and Bridgit begin to walk away holding hands, until Jonathan shoots Bridgit from behind. Apparently they can hurt them since Bridgit is dead. Gaines asks a teary Mandy if she's in for a certain job this summer. She coldly says yes. Mandy and Gaines drive off, without Bridgit's body.

2:56 A.M.-2:57 A.M.: Jack believes Nina as both of them are meeting with Jamey, who explains when the info was taken via Nina's computer. It happened when she and Jack were on vacation together. After Jamey leaves, Jack apologizes to Nina, but it's not good enough for her. Jack tries to learn who hacked Nina's account. Tony calls someone to come relieve Jack of his command.

2:57 A.M.-3:00 A.M.: Kimberly calls Teri to get them. She gives the location, and then hangs up because Dan and Rick are coming. Kimberly motions for Janet to go ahead, as she plans to try to fend them off, but Janet gets hit by a car. Kimberly screams, as she can't revive her. The guys drag Kimberly off and leave Janet in the street, not needing her. Teri and Alan are driving, while the agents have returned Palmer to headquarters. Janet is still alive. Tick, tick, tick...

3:02 A.M.-3:03 A.M.: Janet comes to temporarily, but is too weak to call for help. Then she passes out again. Dan and Rick escort Kimberly, kicking and screaming, back to the van. Despite Kimberly's pleas, Dan refuses to go back and get Janet.

3:03 A.M.-3:04 A.M.: At CTU, Jack tries to patch things up with Nina by telling her what happened to Walsh. He says they have to trust each other because they can't trust anyone else.

3:04 A.M.-3:09 A.M.: The agents drop Palmer off at his hotel room and let him know Pierce wants to talk to him. Palmer makes Pierce wait, and phones Carl to reiterate that he wants a source within an hour. Sherry sees Palmer is back and warns him of the assassination threat. He won't tell her where he went, though. Tony explains a discrepancy regarding the passenger list to Jack. The ticketing files said first class was booked full, yet the list shows an empty seat there. Plus, there was a waiting list, so it doesn't make sense for the plane to have departed with an available seat. Jamey manages to extract her first bit of info off the key card: a San Fernando Road address, which on the surface has nothing to do with Palmer. Since Jamey thinks it'll take hours to extract the next piece of the puzzle, Jack plans to go check out the address himself. Before he can make it out, access gets shut off as there's a lockdown in CTU. Mason has returned to say that's standard procedure until they get some answers in regards to the deaths of Walsh and Baylor. Jack tries to leave the building, but an agent won't let him out. So Jack punches him and escapes.

3:13 A.M.-3:17 A.M.: Mason announces what the agents can and can't do during lockdown. Tony tells Nina he thinks Jack was in some way responsible for the two deaths -- and maybe Nina was too. The agent Jack punched tells Mason Jack got out. Mason tries to coax Nina into telling him where Jack went, but she plays coy.

3:17 A.M.-3:19 A.M.: Pierce arrives to state the severity of this particular threat to Palmer. Pierce recommends changing his schedule -- particularly ditching the breakfast he's going to -- but Palmer is more concerned with winning than making himself scarce on primary day. Pierce leaves, and Keith has a talk with his father about what they're going through.

3:19 A.M.-3:21 A.M.: Dan, Rick and Kimberly are back on the road. Kimberly won't stop begging Dan to go back and get Janet. Kimberly tries to appeal to Rick, but he says she's probably dead anyway. Dan does pull the van over; it finally hits the dim-witted junkie that if Janet is alive, she can ID them. So he has to go back and shut her up for good just in case. That prompts Kimberly to carry on more than ever, so Dan gives Rick some tape to tie -- and shut -- her up. Teri and Alan are ordered to pull over by a cop because Alan was speeding.

3:21 A.M.-3:23 A.M.: Alan and Teri explain the situation to the moronic cop. He doesn't care and only wants Alan's license and registration. Teri says she called 911 15 minutes ago and he can feel free to verify it. The cop goes to do just that while ordering them to stay in the car. Alan doesn't want to wait and gets out to yell at him. The cop doesn't like that and places Alan under arrest for disobeying a police officer. Teri is left in the car, so shaken up that she fails to notice Dan driving right past her.

3:27 A.M.-3:29 A.M.: Mason has a private chat with Nina to get her to spill it. Nina still plays coy and threatens to blow the lid off his cover-up. Mason laughs it off, believing it's water under the bridge compared to what Jack has done. He also says he knows about her affair with Jack since Jack bragged about it around the office. Nina doesn't believe that -- at first.

3:29 A.M.-3:30 A.M.: As Jack is on his way to the San Fernando address, he calls Teri. She misses the call because she left her phone in Alan's car, which she's just gotten out of to reason with the officer. Jack arrives at the address. Within minutes of snooping around, he comes face to face with a bad guy. Jack aims and tells him not to move, but he runs away and tries to shoot Jack. An officer in the area hears the shot and calls for backup before going to investigate. The officer catches Jack, thinking he's the bad guy, and goes to arrest him until Jack explains who he is and how he needs assistance. The two stake out the building as Teri picks an inopportune time to return to the car and check her messages. Jack's phone ringing alerts the bad guy to their location, and he opens fire again. Jack wishes the other officer hadn't called for backup as he knows he has to break a few rules with this one.

3:30 A.M.-3:36 A.M.: Mason twists the knife with Nina by reminding her that Jack dumped her and now her reputation in the agency is as nothing more than Jack's lapdog. It works, but she still won't talk. Jack and the officer nearly shoot a janitor, whom she orders to stay put.

3:36 A.M.-3:37 A.M.: Dan slowly pulls up to Janet's body, which is right where they left it. Rick wants him to just put her back in the van, but Dan intends to kill her. Luckily for Janet, Dan can't carry out his plans, for an ambulance has shown up.

3:40 A.M.-3:41 A.M.: Having finished her talk with Mason, Nina warns Jamey that Mason will talk to her next and she can't be intimidated into confessing. Jamey worries since Mason is higher up than Jack, but Nina tells her the orders came from Walsh, who was higher up than all of them. Jack and the officer see the bad guy running away above them in the neighboring building.

3:41 A.M.-3:44 A.M.: Carl is on the phone with Palmer. He's got a name -- George Ferragamo -- whom Palmer knows. Palmer finally comes clean with Sherry about what Maureen Kingsley is doing. Ferragamo was Keith's therapist, and Keith apparently confessed to him that he did kill Nicole's rapist. Sherry believes Ferragamo is lying, but Palmer starts to have doubts as Kingsley is not a trash peddler.

3:44 A.M.-3:46 A.M.: Alan apologizes to the cop, but it's not enough for him. Finally, the confirmation comes in over his radio that they did call 911, and the cop uncuffs Alan, still under the belief (like all moronic cops) that it didn't justify disobeying an officer. Alan and Teri angrily return to the car and drive off. Slowly. Jack and the cooperative officer run through the building as Jack explains his plan, which is not to shoot him. Or Jack, for that matter. Backup is flying overhead by way of a helicopter. Backup also seems to think Jack is the suspect and orders him to drop his weapon. The bad guy tries to use the opportunity to shoot Jack, but he jumps out of the way. The officer nearly shoots the janitor again, angry that he didn't stay put. Because he didn't stay put, the bad guy grabs her from behind and points a gun to her head.

3:52 A.M.-3:52 A.M.: The bad guy shouts at Jack to come and get him, but the officer tells him not to or they'll both be killed. The helicopter backup warns the bad guy to drop the gun as he's warning Jack to drop his. Jack does as told and then rushes the bad guy, who fires his gun and throws the officer to the ground. As Jack is trying to detain the bad guy, he asks the officer for cuffs. There's just one hitch -- she's dead.

3:52 A.M.-3:57 A.M.: Teri and Alan see an ambulance drive past, and ask a woman if she knows what happened. The woman says a girl was hit by a car, tells them the nearest hospital and says it didn't look good. Alan speeds off again. Here's to hoping the cop's not around. Dan and Rick are parked in a deserted part of town as Gaines pulls up. He wants to know where Janet is. Dan says they killed her because she was a problem. Gaines then wants to know where the body is. Dan claims they won't find it. Gains tells Kimberly that she's with him now. Be good, she'll be back home safely in a day or two. Be bad, and, well... Mason calls Jamey in and explains what will happen if she gets caught up in Jack's and Nina's web of lies. But she won't talk either. Their meeting is cut short. Jack's been found. Lockdown is over.

3:57 A.M.-4:00 A.M.: The officer's body is carried off by an ambulance. After he's been checked out, Jack speaks with a third officer and learns the victim's name -- Jessie Hampton. Jack wants the officer to let him take the bad guy in for questioning. The officer refuses since he's just killed a cop, but he does agree to let Jack have a few minutes with him. The bad guy won't tell Jack who he is. He certainly knows who Jack is, though. He also knows where Kimberly is, and says Jack will never see her again if they don't let him walk. Jack lunges for the bad guy, is held back by the police, cools down, races back to his car and takes off. Tick, tick, tick...

4:02 A.M.-4:02 A.M.: The St. Mark's Hospital staff prep Janet for surgery.

4:02 A.M.-4:06 A.M.: While in custody in a police car, the bad guy turns around to see Jack is following them. Teri and Alan arrive at the hospital, all shaken up, to inquire about the girl that was recently brought in. They are told it's a Jane Doe, so the two disobey orders to find out for themselves if it's Kimberly or Janet. From outside the operating room, they see that it's Janet. Jack calls Nina from his car to ask if they found Kimberly. In tears, Teri reveals where she and Alan are and everything they went through the past hour. She begs Jack to please get there as she's losing her mind without him. Jack needs to know more about the address Kimberly gave her, but she doesn't know any more. And he finds he can't talk to Janet either as she's in surgery. He promises to be at the hospital as soon as he takes care of business. Rick puts a tied-up Kimberly into the backseat of Gaines' car as she carries on. Gaines is on the phone with someone telling them Kimberly is there and Rick and Dan said Janet was dead. After he hangs up, Gaines tells the guys there's another change of plans and they have to drive to the compound to get there money. And to make sure to take a different route from him so they won't look like a caravan. Realizing Gaines is psycho, Rick wants to split, but there's no way Dan is going to forfeit the $20,000 they were promised for this job. Not to mention that Rick owes Dan for something or other. Gaines drives off with Kimberly, as Rick decides to get into Dan's van.

4:06 A.M.-4:09 A.M.: At Palmer Headquarters, the senator orders Patty to go to bed as she's exhausted from working on his speech. Sherry pleads with him not to say anything to Keith or Nicole as they don't even know whether Maureen Kingsley is telling the truth. Palmer disagrees, as he wants the kids to be prepared. Nicole talks to her father about how she believes the election is in the bag. She's gone so far as to invite people to a victory party.

4:09 A.M.-4:12 A.M.: At CTU, Nina tells Jack over the phone that Mason ended lockdown after finding out where he was. Jack says he's at the precinct and needs Nina to contact Ryan Sealey, a man who can help Jack get an police override so he can go interrogate the bad guy. Nina goes to ask Tony for Sealey's number. He in turn asks her if she's still mad at him for precipitating the lockdown. She is, but Tony's not apologetic since Jack has been lying to both of them. In the precinct, forthcoming override or not, the desk sergeant won't let Jack see the bad guy. Jack asks to talk to the lieutenant instead, but he won't. So Jack lies and tells sarge that Jessie Hampton was helping him investigate a federal case. That works. But just as the sergeant's about to open the cell for Jack, in walks Mason and company to put a halt to it.

4:16 A.M.-4:19 A.M.: While in transit, Rick blasts Dan for letting Gaines take Kimberly. Dan says if Rick has the hots for her, then he should have done something by himself. When Rick says he doesn't want Kimberly to get hurt, Dan laughs -- she's seen all their faces, so there isn't a chance in hell she's getting out of there unhurt. Perhaps Gaines killed her already. But all Dan cares about is the $10,000 cash they were each promised to kidnap her. Mason escorts Jack -- whom he considers a prime suspect in the murder of Walsh -- into a private room, refusing to let him go until he confesses what he was doing at Dunlop Plaza. Jack explains that Walsh and Scott Baylor were killed because they obtained information about the Palmer hit, and if he doesn't want to see Palmer get killed then he better stop impeding his progress. Mason lets Jack go. Gaines pulls over to the side of the road take a call. A bus pulls up next to his car, and Kimberly starts kicking the window, hoping the driver will see her there. Gaines puts a gun to her head to make her stop, drives into an alley, and reassigns her to the trunk.

4:19 A.M.-4:23 A.M.: Palmer calls Maureen Kingsley, hoping to talk about things. Since she's staying in the same hotel, they agree to meet in a conference room in 10 minutes. Teri and Alan talk with an officer about Kimberly's disappearance. Jack calls Teri to say that the police brought in a suspect who may know where Kimberly is, and she and Alan have to talk to Janet as soon as she's out of surgery. Mason returns to give Jack some good news -- the bad guy won't talk to anyone but him. Jack goes in and starts badgering him, as Mason and the others secretely watch from outside. Jack says something the bad guy doesn't like, causing him to call the officers to get Jack out of there. So Jack throws him into a wall and continues roughing him up until Mason's boys barge in and break it up, while the bad guy yells that he wants a phone call. Outside, Mason beats down Jack for messing up.

4:23 A.M.-4:25 A.M.: Jack ducks into a private corridor to wait for an important call -- the bad guy's. The two set the whole thing up. The bad guy says he won't tell Jack where Kimberly is unless Jack can get him out, because the people he answers to will call him in 20 minutes, and will know something's up when he's not at a certain pay phone to take it. Jack needs to get Penticoff to that phone, or else the one chance he has to find Kimberly will be blown. They hang up, and Jack calls Nina to give her the bad guy's name -- Penticoff -- and request that she trace all available lines within the area of the street address Penticoff gave him where he's supposed to be waiting. After explaining why he needs it, Nina wonders how he expects his voice to pass for Penticoff's. Jack says he won't have to, since they'll be hearing Penticoff's voice. Nina learns something she doesn't want to hear: Jack is planning a jailbreak.

4:29 A.M.-4:32 A.M.: Jack pulls aside Officer Phillips, who transferred Penticoff to the holding cell, explaining that he needs to see him. Jessie Hampton was Phillips' partner, and since he wants to see Penticoff go down for it without getting off on a technicality because of Jack, he'll only let Jack in with him there. Jack is fine with that. As the second half of their set-up, Jack badgers Penticoff until he goes off again and Phillips tries to break it up. Jack then provokes Phillips by asking where he is when his partner needed him. Phillips responds in rage by wrestling Jack to the ground, as another officer comes in, pulls them apart and escorts Jack in. In the middle of the scuffle, Penticoff was able to steal Phillips' keycard, and escorts himself out of jail.

4:32 A.M.-4:36 A.M.: Alan explains Janet's status to Teri. When she says she wishes Jack were there, he says he does too. The secret service scan Maureen Kingsley for weapons before letting her into the conference room with Palmer. Kingsley, Palmer and his family were old friends whose careers took off together. And now they're on opposite sides of the fence. Kingsley tells him she wishes she didn't get the info, but it's murder and she has to come forward with it. Palmer claims it's rumor, and wants to know her source. At first unwilling, Kingsley comes out with her two sources. George Ferragamo is one; he's the one who told Kingsley. The other is a hospital record for a teenage boy named Edward Johnson who admitted himself shortly after Gibson's death for cuts and bruises similar to the ones listed on Gibson's autopsy record. Kingsley had Edward Johnson's signature analyzed. It's Keith's handwriting. Palmer still refuses to believe it, and threatens Kingsley to do what she has to do, but be prepared to accept the consequences.

4:40 A.M.-4:43 A.M.: Palmer wakes up Keith and confronts him about Gibson. When Keith refuses to answer his father's questions, the senator grabs him and shakes him demanding he answer. After restraining himself, Palmer leaves.

4:43 A.M.-4:47 A.M.: Mason apologizes to the desk sergeant for Jack's actions and requests he keep this under wraps. Phillips comes in to say he'll start processing Penticoff when they're done with him. The desk sergeant asks what Phillips is doing there since he thought he left. Then he checks the computer, which shows he did leave. Uh oh. Teri tells Alan she feels guilty over the things she said to Kimberly when she found she was failing algebra, and that she wished Kimberly would get out. She feels they made a mistake by going to the hospital instead of waiting. Alan comforts her by promising to stay together until Kimberly is found. Mason helps the officers pinpoint Jack's and Penticoff's location via police security footage.

4:47 A.M.-4:48 A.M.: Jack and Penticoff get out of his car to wait by the pay phone where Penticoff's expecting his call. Jack gets on the phone with Nina to make sure she's getting the trace. He also asks Penticoff who the guys are that will call him, but he doesn't know their names. The pay phone rings, but Nina can't pick up the frequency. Jack realizes they're screwed -- the people are calling Penticoff from a cell phone. Penticoff takes the call anyway. It's Gaines, and he tells him to take a set of keys and a remote that were taped behind the phone. The remote will help find a parked car and the keys will open the trunk, which has a body in it which Gaines wants disposed of. Gaines hangs up, and Jack asks Penticoff whose body is in the trunk. But Penticoff knows as much as Jack does.

4:53 A.M.-4:57 A.M.: Jack and Penticoff locate the car and the body, but before they can do anything, Mason and crew show up. Jack sells Penticoff short and lets them take him back to jail. Mason wants to take Jack there too, so Jack shows him the body in the trunk. Mason lets Jack off the hook, but asks why he's doing all this. Jack reveals everything Walsh told him and apologizes for misjudging Mason. After agreeing to trust each other from now on, Jack prepares to take the body to CTU while Mason prepares to return to the station to grill Penticoff. On his way to CTU, Jack calls Nina to get their best forensic ready.

4:57 A.M.-5:00 A.M.: While Janet's in surgery, Jack calls Teri to say he'll be there in 20 minutes to explain in person what's going on. Rick and Dan wait until Gaines returns with Kimberly. Dan requests his money now. Gaines requests what really happened to Janet. Dan reiterates that they killed her. But Gaines knows that someone fitting her description was taken to a hospital in the area. Dan chokes and admits that maybe she wasn't quite dead. Gaines explains that you're either dead or you're not. To make his point, he pulls out his gun and sees to it that Dan is quite dead. After Rick and Kimberly hum a few bars of shock and fear, Gaines promotes Rick and warns him not to lie to him like his friend. Back at the hospital, complications from surgery push Janet to death's door as Teri and Alan look on helplessly. Tick, tick, tick...

5:02 A.M.-5:04 A.M.: As Teri and Alan watch from outside the operating room, Janet's BP starts crashing. The nurses call in Dr. Collier, who has them shock her with a defibrillator, but the first attempts fail. Jack calls Teri from his car to say he'll be there soon, and warns her not to let anyone suspicious see Janet as she may be in danger. More than you know, pal! After they hang up, Jack meets Nina and has her take the body in Penticoff's car to find out who he is -- which won't be easy since they mutilated his face, pulled his teeth and amputated his fingers. Jack tells Nina about Janet and asks her to keep it secret that he's going to the hospital. A helicopter he summoned arrives and picks him up, just as Tony comes charging out demanding to find out from Nina why Jack called for one without giving a destination. She tells him off.

5:04 A.M.-5:06 A.M.: Gaines tells Kimberly this is what happens when you lie and warns Rick not to ever lie to him. He hands Rick a shovel to get rid of Dan's body. Kimberly tries to appeal to Rick by saying he'll end up just like Dan if they don't work together, but he angrily shuts her up.

5:06 A.M.-5:10 A.M.: Palmer calls Carl to the hotel, and beats the truth out of him -- that he covered up Keith's crime and altered the hospital records. After making sure Palmer really wants to know the truth, Carl admits Keith came to him to confess murdering Lyle Gibson, but claimed it was self-defense as Gibson pulled a knife on him. Palmer asks why didn't they go to the police to confess if it was only self-defense, but Carl thinks it would have ruined his career anyway -- because Gibson was white. Palmer orders Carl out of his life and out of his family's life. Before he goes, Carl twists the knife by telling the senator that Sherry was in on the cover-up.

5:14 A.M.-5:16 A.M.: Kimberly gets another shovel and helps Rick dig, against his wishes. Rick lets Kimberly know he didn't want to leave Janet there, that no one was supposed to get hurt. Kimberly doesn't want to hear Rick's whining, she only wants him to think of a way to escape.

5:16 A.M.-5:19 A.M.: Jack arrives at the hospital, where he is met by head of security Claude Davenport. Jack thanks him for locking down the hospital so only staff can get in, then is reunited with Teri. Teri lets Jack know Janet is now stable, but not talking yet. Alan introduces himself to Jack. He's relieved that Janet pulled through, but isn't sure he wants Jack to interrogate her when she comes to. Teri is angry and Alan stunned when Jack treats Alan like a suspect by questioning if he knew who Kimberly and Janet went out with. Teri pulls Jack aside to tell him Alan was with her all night, but the conversation is cut short when Jack sees Davenport fighting with a guy who is trying to barge his way into the hospital so he can see his brother. The guy angrily walks past Davenport and Jack with a suspicious briefcase, so Jack jumps him and dumps out the contents: a bunch of pills, which he says are his medication. A nurse comes by to calm down the guy about the status of his brother, letting Jack know he's clean.

5:19 A.M.-5:22 A.M.: Sherry asks Palmer what Carl wanted. When he comes out with it, she believes Carl was just feeding him a story. Palmer puts her on the spot by sternly asking why SHE was feeding HIM a story. Sherry says they hid it from him because they were protecting his career, but he thinks she was protecting her own career. Sherry says they need to do everything they can to keep the truth from coming out, but he says it's too late. She reminds him then he'll be losing a lot more than the election, and asks if he really wants to send Keith to jail. He's got no answer for her.

5:27 A.M.-5:29 A.M.: Kimberly and Rick talk about how Dan and Janet acted like they were invincible, and how they wish they could turn back the clock (well, they could in episode 2). Gaines returns and orders Kimberly to come with him and Rick to finish the job. Jack calls Nina from the hospital to find out if she's got anything on the body. There's no ID yet, but the time of death was estimated between 11:00 P.M. and midnight last night. Nina tells him they're doing tissue samples to identify it, but Jack makes her call that off as it will take more time than they have.

5:29 A.M.-5:33 A.M.: Teri apologizes to Alan for the way Jack treated him. She says she's accepted how wound up he is. He thinks they'll be able to find Kimberly once Janet wakes up. Jack ends his call with Nina and pulls Teri aside to finally tell her why he was called to work last night -- and that Kimberly was kidnapped because of him. When Teri bursts into tears, Jack consoles her. She wants him to call the police, but he can't. Besides, he knows the kidnappers need Kimberly alive.

5:37 A.M.-5:39 A.M.: Jamey is not happy when Nina takes her off the key card assignment, gives it to Milo, an outside contractor, and reassigns her to forensics. Palmer wakes up his chief of staff, Mike, in the middle of the night to talk to him. Alan has good news for Jack and Teri -- Janet is out of surgery and has pulled through. Jack apologizes to Alan. Nina calls Jack to say they found a surgical pin in the body's ankle which is one-of-a-kind and should be able to identify it.

5:39 A.M.-5:42 A.M.: Mike reaffirms to Palmer that the minute Maureen Kingsley breaks the story, he's guaranteed to lose. But unlike Palmer, Mike doesn't think he should drop out, because he has responsibilities as the first African-American candidate. Mike tries to reassure Palmer that he wasn't a part of the coverup and didn't even know, but that's not reassurement to him because it just means he doesn't know anything about his family. Mike asks the senator if he really wants the job, then he needs to beat Kingsley to the punch and come out with the story himself at the breakfast...regardless of how that will make his family feel.

5:42 A.M.-5:47 A.M.: Dr. Collier tells Alan there's nothing Janet won't recover from, explains the complications in surgery, and is optimistic that she'll pull through. Jack asks Collier if he can ask Janet a few questions now. She's not comfortable with that, so she leaves it in Alan's hands. Alan says he'll go in first to make sure Janet is up to it. Jack gets a call, believing it's Nina. But it's Gaines, who threatens Jack won't see Kimberly again if he doesn't do what he's told. When Gaines makes it clear he's watching him, Jack looks around the hospital and spots the surveillance camera the terrorists intercepted. Gaines makes Jack smile at Teri and walk away from her towards the exit. Dr. Collier lets Alan in to see Janet and gives them time alone. In a daze, Janet says hi to her father -- until her vision clears up, she doesn't know who he is, and asks where IS her father. Before anybody can answer, Alan takes her oxygen mask and smothers her until she flatlines.

5:51 A.M.-5:54 A.M.: In the hospital's garage, Gaines orders Jack to get into a silver Taurus. Jack refuses to do anymore until he can talk to Kimberly to confirm she's okay. Gaines lets Kimberly have two seconds with him before he pulls her off the phone and tells Jack to take a metal box out of the glove compartment. Inside is a small transmitter, which Jack is told to put in his ear, then throw his phone out the window, pick up the keys, start the car, and go to CTU.

5:54 A.M.-5:57 A.M.: Nina calls Jack to check up, but obviously only gets his answering message. Alan returns to tell her what Janet "said" -- some boys got rough with them, she isn't sure if Kimberly got away, but she knows the address where they may be holding her. He thinks maybe they can take it to the police. Teri says Jack is the police, and panicks when she can neither get through to him nor find him. She plans to go to the address herself, until Alan says she'll take her since Dr. Collier says Janet will be fine without him. They exit the hospital together as Teri continues to look for her husband. Rick pulls Dan's body into the grave he dug, as another captor returns Kimberly to the scene. Rick apologizes to Dan before he starts shovelling. Kimberly tells Rick she spoke to her dad, whom she believes will get them out of this. Rick is skeptical since Jack doesn't even know where they are. Kimberly grabs her shovel.

5:57 A.M.-6:00 A.M.: Milo goes to Jamey to ask if she used a certain method on the keycard, because it's faster than what she was doing. She's resentful of him. Nina tells Jamey they just made the identification. Teri and Alan are in his car, on their way to the address. Teri notices a deep scratch on Alan's wrist which she didn't notice before. Alan says he got it back at the furniture store. Nina calls Teri to say she can't get through to Jack. Teri says he went to take a call, and...wait a second, wasn't it from her? But Nina says she hasn't spoken to Jack in half an hour. She asks Teri that when she does find out where Jack is to tell him that they just found out the murder victim's name. It's Alan York. Tick, tick, tick...

Note: Apparently Kiefer Sutherland(Jack Bauer) was on the Tonight Show before the broadcast of this episode and forgetfully gave away the entire ending of this episode.

6:02 A.M.-6:05 A.M.: Jonathan dyes his hair black and puts in color contacts. Now he's Martin. He gets dressed and is told by Gaines to beat traffic as he's seeing Palmer in an hour. Gaines makes Jack retrieve a keycard he left for him under his visor. Nina inquires if Milo's gotten anything off their keycard. He says he's found a scrambled medical file, which probably means the shooter is trying to hide his identity -- or someone else's.

6:05 A.M.-6:08 A.M.: While Keith is jogging, Palmer follows him and gets out to talk to him, against the wishes of Agent Pierce. Palmer explains if he doesn't tell, Kingsley will. Palmer wants him to go to the dinner, but Keith is too angry at his father to go. Keith says he always put his career first, breaks down in tears and then runs away from Palmer. Kimberly persuades Rick to run away with her, but he thinks it's a lost cause. He also thinks Gaines will let him go now that he's buried Dan. Kimberly doesn't believe that and thinks Gaines will kill him now that Rick has exhausted his usefulness.

6:08 A.M.-6:13 A.M.: Jack arrives back at CTU. Gaines wants him to replace the keycard he left for him with the one Milo is working on. Nina sees him and tries to find out what's going on. He says Kimberly's been found and was just at a party. She says the murder victim has been identified as Alan York. Once he's away from Nina, Jack angrily asks Gaines who's with Teri then. Gaines fires a gun over the phone, saying that's the last sound Teri and Kimberly will hear unless Jack calms himself down. Jack doesn't know how to go about replacing the keycard without attracting attention. Gaines calls Kevin (that's the Alan York impersonator) to say that Teri knows he's not Alan York and he needs to be careful. His cell phone is out of range, so Gaines has to leave a message. Teri tells Kevin she's feeling sick and begs him to pull over and stop the car. He does, and she runs behind a bush to throw up. Kevin decides to check his messages while she's away, but the one from Gaines has broken up to the point it's unintelligible. Kevin pulls the keys out of the ignition and decides to go check on Teri. She takes him by surprise, bashes his head in with a rock until he's unconscious and takes the keys.

6:17 A.M.-6:19 A.M.: Teri ties Kevin, who's still unconscious, to a tree. She tries to use his cell phone to call for help, but it's still out of the range of service. Rick tells Gaines that Dan is buried and requests his money. Gaines doesn't want to pay him now and he doesn't want Rick to leave either as he's got more things for him to do.

6:19 A.M.-6:21 A.M.: Gaines tells Jack he has three minutes to make the switch. Jack attempts to write a note for his co-workers telling them he's bugged, but Gaines sees it and makes him shred it. The CTU security cameras have been intercepted, as well. Nina catches up with Jack to say Milo's about to pull a name off the card. Nina is confused when Jack requests that she make Milo stop working on the card until he gets there and talks to him personally.

6:21 A.M.-6:24 A.M.: Palmer talks with Nicole. Sherry told her what's going on. He asks her to go to the breakfast. She'll be there. He preps her that there's going to be questions about the rape, and if she doesn't want to answer them, she can just say 'no comment.' Jack goes to see Milo, who says he was waiting for him to get there. Jack yells at Milo for halting work, then knocks something over. When Milo goes to pick it up off the floor, Jack makes the switch, then orders him back to work. Milo is angry.

6:29 A.M.-6:31 A.M.: Milo realizes something is wrong when he resumes work on the card. Jamey comes over to see what's wrong with it. She thinks the sectors aren't linked. He scoffs at her but checks it anyway. That's what it is. Teri attempts to flag down a passing car. Kevin regains consciousness and warns her not to, as Kimberly will be dead if he doesn't deliver her to Gaines in half an hour. Teri threatens to bash Kevin with a rock again if he doesn't tell her where Kimberly is. She tries to get a signal on the phone, which he also warns against.

6:31 A.M.-6:37 A.M.: Gaines has Jack call in to get priority clearance to Palmer's breakfast, then has him call Division and post himself out for an hour so he can attend it. Rick returns to the shed to tell Kimberly she was right -- Gaines isn't letting him go yet. Kimberly talks him into running away with her. Rick shows her an escape route, but one of Gaines' thugs interrupts. Rick makes it looks like he's trying to rape Kimberly, so he can get a few minutes alone with her to finish the job. Milo continues to have problems with the key card. Now Nina comes over to see what's wrong. Milo knows it's not the same card. When Nina questions who could have switched it, they both realize who. Nina goes to see Jack to inquire about the card. Gaines warns him to be careful, so after playing dumb, Jack tells Nina that Division got some info that they didn't trust Milo with. Nina still wants the key card, so, facing pressure from Gaines, Jack has no choice but to draw his gun and take her hostage. He apologizes, puts a jacket on her and escorts her to the exit with the gun hidden under the jacket. Before they make it out, Tony intervenes to ask where they're going. Jack says Division called them to a meeting. Outside, Jack forces Nina into his car and makes her drive.

6:42 A.M.-6:43 A.M.: Teri finally gets a signal on the phone. She calls Jack, but since Gaines made him leave his phone behind in St. Mark's garage, the only answer she gets is from a doctor who sees it lying on the ground. When he explains how he got the phone, he says he can call the cops if she wants, but she doesn't want that. She hangs up and calls CTU. Jamey answers and says that Jack just left with Nina. Teri explains the situation with Kimberly and Kevin. Since she won't let Jamey call the police either, Jamey gets her to give her location so she can send someone from CTU to come pick her up, then writes the address down on a pad.

6:43 A.M.-6:49 A.M.: Palmer gets dressed for the breakfast. Sherry wonders if they'll all be in the clear if they can persuade Kingsley not to come forward with the story. Palmer thinks that's impossible. Sherry thinks it's not... with blackmail. After another argument, Palmer thinks about it. Rick makes small talk with Gaines' thug, and leads him away from the shed, which he left unlocked for Kimberly. When Rick brags about how good a lay she was, the thug wants to go into the shed and get one himself. But Rick saves the day by reminding him that they need to load a truck for Gaines. Kimberly gets out and hides in the field where Rick told her to wait. Rick catches up with her and elaborates on the escape route. Two agents Jamey called to pick up Teri show up at the scene. One of them introduces himself as CTU Agent Charles McLemore -- right before the other one unties Kevin and the three of them take Teri hostage again. Jamey crosses the address off her pad, then tosses the evidence when she sees Tony coming. He asks her if she has confirmation on her computer about the supposed meeting Jack said he and Nina were going to. She doesn't, but she says it doesn't mean anything since the computer has been glitching since the lockdown. Tony suspects foul play, and asks Jamey to cue up the security camera footage from Jack's office. Jamey says she's not authorized to do that. He authorizes her.

6:49 A.M.-6:50 A.M.: Nina continues following Jack's directions, all the while unsuccessfully trying to get answers out of him. She's so mad at herself for trusting and defending him that she nearly rear ends another vehicle.

6:54 A.M.-6:57 A.M.: Jack and Nina arrive where Gaines wants them, and Jack makes her stop the car. She sees somebody followed them, but he won't tell her who. Jack asks Gaines what he wants him to do with Nina. Gaines wants Jack to shoot her, to which Jack protests. Meanwhile, Nina wants to know why Jack is talking to his ear. Jack doesn't protest for long and violently orders Nina out of the car at gunpoint. She takes a guess that he's going to kill her. He says he has no choice as they have Kimberly. She feels they'll kill her anyway. Jack apologizes, asks Nina to forgive him, and tries to turn her around so he can shoot her in the back. Nina refuses to turn around, lest she make it easy for him. So, with Gaines chanting "Shoot her!" over the earpiece, Jack shoots her in the front. The job done, Gaines orders Jack back into the car. He leaves.

6:57 A.M.-7:00 A.M.: Kimberly and Rick dig their way under a fence -- the only way out -- but Kimberly hears screaming and crying across the distance, and sees some men have got her mother and are bringing her to Gaines. Rick tells Kimberly to just leave her as they haven't got time, but she won't and tells him to go without her. He won't leave without her, and Kimberly blows their only chance to get away when one of Gaines' men enters their escape route. Tony views the security footage and sees Jack pull a gun on Nina. What he doesn't understand is why Jack put a flak jacket on her. Nina gets up and walks away unharmed. That's why. Tick, tick, tick...

7:02 A.M.-7:08 A.M.: As Nina is leaving the scene of the crime, the California primary opens. Jonathan's on his way to the breakfast when Gaines rings him to make sure he's in. Sherry asks Palmer if he's decided what he's going to do. He says he's rewritten his speech, which now includes the truth. Keith and his father have an argument, as Keith expects he'll be going to prison for killing a white man. Before Jonathan gets past security, Palmer's press assistant, Jessica Abrams, introduces herself, as she's a big fan. Pierce runs a check on Jonathan, and gives him clearance. Gaines' thugs bring Teri into his compound. Gaines orders Jack to pull over at a bus stop. A man waiting there has been expecting Jack, and gives him a briefcase. Jack won't carry on until he can speak to his family, so Gaines lets his new arrival have a word on the phone before making him drive to the power plant where the breakfast is being held. Gaines tells Teri she'll be released within an hour if Jack does as told. She asks to see Kimberly, so the thugs take her there.

7:08 A.M.-7:11 A.M.: Back at CTU, Jamey sees she's gotten a message, retrieves a handheld device from her desk, and leaves her station. Milo, who's in a bad mood, stops her to ask what happened to Nina and what he should do with the keycard. Jamey doesn't care, brushes him off, goes into the ladies' room, locks herself in a stall, turns on her handheld, and takes the message. It's from Gaines, who -- surprise, surprise -- is watching her. He asks if Milo knows he's working on the wrong keycard. She types "yes." Next, he asks if this is going to be a problem. She types "no." Gaines finishes the Q&A session by relaying that Nina is dead, so make up a story for why she's not there. Jamey doesn't seem to be a very good spy, as the news personally affects her. Two of Gaines' thugs reunite Teri and Kimberly, and lock them both up in the back room of the shed. They cry and weep and hug and do assorted girly things.

7:15 A.M.-7:17 A.M.: Kimberly asks her mother where Jack is. She only knows that he knows where they are. Kimberly apologizes for being a bad seed, and explains the situation about Rick, Dan and Janet when questioned.

7:17 A.M.-7:25 A.M.: Nina comes upon a deserted building, and busts her way in. Conveniently, there's a working phone there for her, so she tries to call Jamey for help. Lucky for Nina that Jamey is not at her desk and doesn't answer. Tony sees her phone ringing, but leaves it be. Nina hangs up, and this time calls Tony, who answers his own phone. Nina won't explain the entire situation, except to say that no one else at CTU can know she's alive. She asks him to get Jamey. He doesn't want to until he tells her what's wrong, but caves in after being yelled at. While he's about to hand her the phone, he overhears Milo arguing with Jamey about when Nina will return. Jamey replies dishonestly to Tony that she just talked to Nina a few minutes ago. So Tony doesn't let Nina speak to Jamey, and instead says she just lied to him about her whereabouts. In a panic, Nina warns Tony that they can't trust her, and Jack told her earlier that CTU has been infiltrated. Realizing Jamey probably thinks she's dead, Nina asks Tony to secretely bring her back in, as the surveillance system is probably bugged. Tony gets her address, and sends a car to pick her up. Palmer and Sherry get out of their limo, greet some men at the door and enter the power plant. Jack is now inside, too, but still needs to get through security. Pierce asks him to open the case the man at the bus stop gave him. There's a laptop inside, and Pierce wants to know why he needs one. After Jack makes up an explanation, Pierce asks him to turn it on. Seeing it work satisfies Pierce, who lets Jack in and tells him the senator is on his way. No sooner than he's clear than Jessica calls Jack over. They knew each other from high school, and she wants to make up for old times, but Gaines won't let him. Once Jack has excused himself from his old friend, Gaines says he has to give the briefcase to one of the terrorists, and now must wait until it's time. Jack sees Palmer arrived. Jessica welcomes him in, and introduces him to the photographer, Martin Belkin.

7:29 A.M.-7:37 A.M.: While Kimberly is dozing off, Teri looks for a way out of the shed. She fools around with a locked window, but is interrupted by Rick, who has brought some food. He introduces himself to her politely. She doesn't know that Rick is a buffoon, and attacks him for what he did to Kimberly. Gaines' thug enters the shed and sees the two in a struggle. Teri lets go, and the thug warns Rick not to make friends, as the ladies won't be around much longer. That's not what Rick wants to hear. Gaines tells Jack it's time, and gives him his new position on the chessboard. Jessica gets in his way again, and starts digging up more old memories that Gaines doesn't have time for. Gaines sees Jack is trying to write a message to her ("Get Palmer Out"), and has another one of his men, Jared, save the day by bumping into Jessica before Jack can hand her the piece of paper (which he told her contained his phone number). That plan foiled, Gaines orders Jack to wait in a medical station until he's needed. The car Tony called for Nina has brought her back to CTU. After she makes sure that the cameras can't see them, Tony lets her in through a side entrance. She explains that Jack is not himself, because the terrorists have his wife and daughter. Tony asks what does she want to do about Jamey. Nina doesn't want to do anything yet, and doesn't want Tony to call Secret Service or else Teri and Kimberly may get killed. Tony couldn't give a crap about them, and goes to make the call anyway. Nina stops him at first, but then lets him call. Jonathan enters the room where Gaines has had Jack wait, and makes Jack assemble the rifle he's going to shoot Palmer with, courtesy various parts that were stashed under Jack's laptop. With Jack's prints all over the weapon, Jonathan packs up the rifle in his camera bag and goes to leave when Jack pulls a gun on him out of anger. Jonathan doesn't flinch, and tells Jack to put it away or someone will get hurt. Jack doesn't put it away -- at least not until after Jonathan has left the room.

7:41 A.M.-7:44 A.M.: Tony goes to see Milo. While Jamey is present, Tony tells him that the keycard was a forgery and he found the original in Jack's office. Milo wants to know why Jack swapped it. Tony says it doesn't matter, since he's sent it to the archive lab, and Milo is getting it back after they're done with it. Tony leaves and calls up Pierce, while Nina monitors Jamey's panic attack from one of the computers. Tony tells Pierce that Jack may have been compromised, is a threat, and the appropriate action should be taken. Nina tells Tony via an ear microphone that Jamey has gotten up and gone to the bathroom. Through Nina's orders, Tony follows Jamey, warned that he has to time his entrance and exit right as the cameras are on a 20-second loop. As they both wait for the 20 seconds to end, Jamey takes her place in the stall and starts to dial Gaines. Nina gives Tony the signal to go. He pulls his gun, storms the bathroom, enters the stall next to Jamey's, points the gun at her, and orders her out. She drops her handheld, picks it up, and Tony rushes her out of the restroom at gunpoint, all in just under 20 seconds. And how nice of Tony -- he let Jamey hang on to her means of communication the whole time, too.

7:44 A.M.-7:48 A.M.: Pierce interrupts Palmer while he's making small talk with some people. Pierce says he's been informed there's a problem with one of the CTU agents, and Palmer needs to leave now. But Palmer doesn't want to leave, as he's really itching to be assassinated. So he recommends Pierce find the problem agent and take care of him. Through his top-secret security handphone, Pierce tells the good agents there that Palmer is going through with his speech, so the only other option for them is to find and detain Jack. After hearing Pierce's description of Jack, Agent Hayes responds, asking Pierce how to proceed. Tony brings Jamey back to the room where Nina was spying on her. And, look, she's still got her handheld. Nina is somewhat smarter than Tony, and swipes the handheld away from her, while both inquire as to whom she was calling in the bathroom. Jamey plays dumb, so Nina gets violent with the little pinko, and threatens to send her to jail. Out of fear, Jamey explains that they only asked her to tap into the security cameras at first, but later started sending her messages -- messages about Jack and the keycard. Jamey swears she never thought it would come to what it has and didn't think anyone would get hurt. But no matter how many times Nina and Tony ask, she won't say who she was doing it for unless they give her Agency Counsel. Fed up with her, Tony breaks out his handcuffs and chains bawling Jamey to a desk. Jack is ransacking the medical room looking for something or other, but stops when he hears Palmer being welcomed to the podium.

7:52 A.M.-8:00 A.M.: As she continues to look for a way out, Teri reminds Kimberly that she loves her, and it's important for her to remember that. Kimberly worries that Teri's telling her because she thinks something bad is about to happen to both of them. They share some big-time love. Palmer begins his speech, to thunderous applause, as a panicked Jack watches and waits, and Jonathan prepares to shoot some photos and/or senators. Gaines tells Jack to step out; they're ready for him. But to do what? He'll just have to go over and stand by Jonathan to find out. Gaines says Jonathan will be handing Jack the weapon after he shoots Palmer. Jack is in disbelief. Gaines warns him not to blow it, because his family will die and they'll get Palmer anyway. Sherry smiles at Palmer's side as he continues blathering on about integrity and honor. Jonathan's gun is aimed and he's about to open fire, but Agent Hayes spots Jack (though not Jonathan) and orders him to come with him. Jack lunges for Hayes' gun, and Hayes wrestles him to the ground, meanwhile yelling out a warning to everybody attending the breakfast. Agents race Palmer out of the building, other agents come to Hayes' aid to help detain Jack, and Gaines watches the entire plan fall apart before his eyes. Not too happy about that, he demands an answer from Jack as to what happened. Jack's earpiece has fallen out of his ear, and Jack tries to reach for it to put it back in, but he has a little trouble in that department since Hayes and company are cuffing his hands behind his back. Jack continues to beg Gaines not to hurt his family as he'll still help him. A very testy Gaines orders his two thugs to go dispose of Teri and Kimberly. They go to do just that. Gaines has an incoming message from Jamey, which he grudgingly takes. Nina and Tony, who were watching TV, have made her call him to say that she just found out Division went to pick up Jack at the power plant, as they've been looking for him all night for breaking protocol. The thugs drag Teri and Kimberly kicking and screaming out back. The women cry and beg and whine and plead, but before any heads can explode, Gaines calls to tell thug #1, Eli, that he still needs them alive. So it's back to the shed. As she's being hauled off, Kimberly sees Rick, who was just standing there the whole time, and gives him a dirty look. Secret Service is escorting Jack out of the plant. Tick, tick, tick...

8:02 A.M.-8:09 A.M.: Pierce and his crew get the Palmers safely out of the plant and into a limo, while Eli and the other thug lock weeping Teri and Kimberly back up in the shed, and Hayes and the other agents turn a handcuffed Jack over to their boss, Frank Simes. With one hand chained to a pole, Jack attempts to plead his case to Simes so he'll uncuff him. Because Tony turned him in, Simes doesn't buy it. Jack tells Simes that Tony doesn't know what he knows, and Palmer's life is still in danger with Jonathan lurking around. Rather than let Jack go, Simes calls Palmer's security to get a list of the photographers who were at the breakfast. After beating her down, Tony gets Jamey to divulge Gaines' name and Nina gets her to divulge that Gaines is the one watching them. Tony and Nina need to get the cameras shut off, but can't cut the feed as that will look too suspicious. Jamey says she knows what to say (as well she better, since she was the one who tapped into the cameras in the first place). Gaines, in a rage, is on the phone with someone trying to find out if Jonathan got a shot off. He hangs up to see all his feeds are down. Before he can find out why, Jamey calls to say she had to shut off his tap, because Milo was on to them. This does nothing to lower Gaines' blood pressure, nor does it buy Nina and Tony much time, as Gaines wants Jack back under his command ASAP. Nina gives Milo Jamey's projects, explaining she's no longer on the team. Greedy Milo wants a pay hike, which Nina says he'll get. From the backseat of his limo, Palmer calls up Mike, who tells him someone has been taken into custody, but they don't know who. Sherry thinks he should have listened to the warnings, but Palmer has a good laugh about his near-death experience. Jack starts yelling at Simes at the top of the lungs. Angry black man Hayes gets annoyed at having to listen to Jack, and forcefully tries to make sit. Simes calls Hayes off, and tells Jack he's turning him in and not letting him back on the case. Jack wants a moment alone with Simes to tell him something in private, so Simes gives Hayes the signal to jet. One on one, Jack explains the truth about Teri and Kimberly, how the terrorists used the threat of killing his family to get him to smuggle the weapon through security to give to the assassin, and how he got Palmer out of the room, thus saving his life. This Simes seems to believe, but he still doesn't have to authority to free Jack, only District does. But Jack knows District won't. Hayes and two other men uncuff Jack from the pole, cuff his hands together, and lead him into the plant's boiler room. As Jack is making his grand exit, Simes says he's sorry. Jack says he will be when Palmer dies.

8:09 A.M.-8:12 A.M.: After observing men working in the boiler room, Jack gets a bright idea, and turns on several valves with his arms -- which in turn blow enough steam in the agents' faces for him to get away from them with one of their guns. A chase ensues, during which Jack jumps a chain-link fence, slides down an embankment leading to the highway, runs out into the street, and with stolen pistol in hand, hijacks the oncoming car of an unsuspecting waitress.

8:16 A.M.-8:18 A.M.: At gunpoint, Jack forces the terrified waitress to drive him where he needs to go, and shouts at her when she botches the directions. He has her pull over in the deserted parking lot of a construction site, and orders her to come with him while he makes a phone call. The half-finished building on the site is locked, so Jack smashes in the window with his elbow.

8:18 A.M.-8:24 A.M.: Tony expresses his disgust with Jamey for betraying her country and being responsible for the deaths of innocent people. He asks her how much they're paying her, figuring it must have been a million or more, and is further disgusted to learn it's just $300,000. Jamey rationalizes her behavior by saying she has to support her son by herself since her husband left her, and that it's not fair that she works twice as hard as the rest of the staff, but makes half as much. Tony dishes up the ultimate insult by calling the little complainer an embarrassment to all of CTU. And you know he means business, too, because he says it in Spanish. Nina returns to say she's got Milo researching Gaines. She asks Jamey to call Gaines and tell him Jack's on his way back to CTU, but Jamey refuses to do anything more until she gets immunity in writing. The phone rings -- it's Jack, calling from the office he broke into. He's relieved that Nina answers, and explains that he put the flak jacket on her because they wanted him to kill her. When she asks why her, he says it's because she started piecing things together. Jack gets Nina up to snuff about what's doing with Teri and Kimberly, and she gets him up to snuff by outing Jamey as the mole. Jack doesn't believe that, as Walsh cleared her. But when Nina tells him that Walsh was mistaken since Jamey already confessed, he realizes she had access to everything -- including details about his family. Even though Nina says Jamey's not cooperating, Jack wants to talk to her anyway. He sucks up to Jamey, professing that he doesn't care about protocol and he'll get her off the hook if she helps him bring down Gaines and save Teri and Kimberly. Jamey sees through his B.S., and continues to demand immunity first. Nina gets back on the phone, and asks Jack what he wants her to do. Since he's about as thrilled with Jamey's work ethic as Tony is, he mentions Jamey's son to Nina, and tells her to bring him in so the kid can see his mommy in handcuffs. Nina tries to make him understand he's acting in the heat of the moment, but Jack carries on, requesting a loaded car (9mm ammo, locksmith kit, the works) be dropped off near the building he's staked out. After they hang up, the waitress asks Jack who he is and what does he want from her. He explains about the kidnapping -- the other one -- but she doesn't understand why he's running from the police then. He reads her nametag, Lauren, and introduces himself as important agent Jack Bauer, whom various people are attempting to detain from his job. Lauren still doesn't understand why he needs her when he's got a car and a hideout. He says that if they find him and try to take him back into custody, he has to make them believe that he's willing to do something crazy for his freedom. She equates that to him shooting her. He attempts to allay her fears by saying he won't shoot her. She believes that, and gets up to leave. When he frantically asks what she's doing, she responds that he isn't the only one with problems -- she works the night shift and was on her way to court for a DUI charge. He decides to bring her fears back by cocking his gun at her before she gets to the door. After letting a good scream out of her system, she has no choice but to listen as he rants about the two people he's killed recently, then decides remaining his hostage is better than making it three.

8:29 A.M.-8:31 A.M.: Pierce and company deliver the Palmers back to their hotel room. Their aide, Anna, wants to know if they're alright. After Sherry asks where Keith is, Anna says he wasn't acting like himself and stormed out a half hour ago. Anna leaves, and Sherry asks her husband if they should send someone to pick him up. He says no; Keith just needs some time alone. Since Palmer couldn't break the story himself, Sherry wonders if there's anything they can do to stop Maureen -- who is going on the air at 9:00 A.M.. But he knows it's too huge a story to pass up. Sherry is miffed at him for suddenly treating this like a non-issue when he's done the impossible for his career. He shoots her down by reminding her she isn't asking for his help, she's asking for him to rewrite history. He has the final say -- if she really wanted his help, she would have asked for it seven years ago when it happened -- and walks away.

8:31 A.M.-8:36 A.M.: Tony answers the phone. Jack has called to talk to Nina, but she's busy, so he asks Tony whether Kyle, Jamey's son, is there yet. He isn't, but Nina did send the car he requested, which should be there soon. Jack says that Simes said he was the one who turned him in. Tony explains he had no choice, but Jack feels he made the right choice. The two guys have a near-male bonding experience when Tony is apologetic for giving Jack a hard time in the midst of his personal crisis, and Jack puts his faith in Tony as the only one besides Nina he can trust. Jack says he'll call back when the car arrives, hangs up, and makes Lauren go fetch a pair of bolt cutters he sees lying outside. Something seemingly having rubbed off from Gaines, he warns her he's watching her. She does as told, returns with the cutters, and, at his command, breaks his handcuffs in two. Mike is over at the Palmers', telling the senator that he just got off the phone with Simes. Simes revealed the agent they took into custody is Jack Bauer, and when Jack tried to take the gun away from one of their men, he claimed his actions were misinterpreted. The news that Jack escaped and hasn't been found makes Palmer uneasy. Mike asks if he knows who Jack is. Palmer says he's heard the name. Back at Gaines' compound, Eli enters the shed, and orders Kimberly to get up and go in the other room. Knowing exactly what he wants with her, Teri shields Kimberly and threatens him. But Eli needs some action pretty bad, and throws Teri into the wall in order to get her lovely daughter. After Teri screams not to hurt her, he draws his gun and says he will hurt her if she keeps it up. So, like King Kong with Ann Darrow, Eli drags his little object of affection kicking and screaming towards the back room. Kimberly doesn't really want to find out what the creepy Eli is like in the sack, so she claws his face. After he lets go of her in pain, she grabs a piece of wood for protection and knocks some stuff over in a vain attempt to hinder him from getting to her in a 20' x 20' shed. Now Eli's really peeved, so it's up to Teri to intervene, courtesy her various seductive "Here I Am, Big Boy" poses. It seems any lay is a good lay for the sexually-starved Eli, as he decides to forego the blonde and perky Kimberly for the dark and sassy Mother Bauer. After they retreat back into Eli's lair, Kimberly attempts to open the door, but it's locked. The sounds of pants unbuckling and mattress springs squeaking are heard as Kimberly gives up trying.

8:40 A.M.-8:44 A.M.: Anna delivers the phone to Sherry. Maureen is on the line. She's actually returning Sherry's call. Maureen is in her make-up chair, about to go live, when Sherry sort of asks, sort of orders her not to go with the story. After sending her hairstylist away, Maureen refuses, as there's no way she'll get rid of an exclusive, documented story. But Sherry finds the way -- by giving Maureen a bigger exclusive, documented story. That being the assassination attempt on Palmer, the arrest of Jack Bauer and the CTU conspiracy. Maureen thinks Sherry is full of crap, but Sherry claims that if Maureen gives her a couple of hours, she can milk some of her sources for details. Maureen won't kill the story entirely, but this alternative newsflash appears to be enough for her to sit on it for a few days. Eli puts Teri back in the pen with Kimberly, apparently having exhausted his use for her. Kimberly rushes into her mother's arms, and apologizes for sneaking out and causing her and Teri -- well, mostly Teri -- anguish. Teri quiets her down, checks to see if Eli is still by the door, and, to Kimberly's surprise, pulls a cell phone out of her pants. Teri dials CTU, and Nina picks up, but before she can say anything more than "Nina, listen, it's Teri," the other thug enters the shed. Teri quickly sticks the phone back in her pants, leaving Nina (who can't trace the call) hanging in the process, while the thug orders her to stand in the corner. As he goes about his business, Teri grabs her jacket, and, through another well-disguised embrace, Kimberly helps her hide the phone so it's not sticking half out of her pants. Teri puts the jacket on, just to be safe.

8:44 A.M.-8:48 A.M.: Keith returns, a little cooler than when he left, now that he knows his father didn't tell the press. But Palmer warns that it's going to come out soon anyway. He thinks his lawyers will have Keith cleared, but Keith feels otherwise. Keith leaves, and Mike tells Palmer that Maureen is sitting on the story for now. This infuriates Palmer, who knows full well who might have persuaded her to do that. After Sherry feigns surprise, Palmer tells everyone he's calling Maureen back to get to the bottom of her motives. Jack makes small talk with Lauren about where she works and whether she's married. She says she was, but her sister had a bad car accident and had to move in with them while she recovered. Her husband gave her an ultimatum to choose between him and her sister, and she chose her sister. Jack inquires about her DUI, and learns it's not her first. When he thinks it's because she has a drinking problem, she laughs and says it's because she has bad luck. As the kidnapping would seem to attest. He apologizes for dragging her into this. She asks him to just let her go, and he promises he will as soon as he gets his car. Exhausted, he begins to drift off, admits in a daze how scared he is at the moment, and promptly falls asleep. She decides to try to make another dash for the door, but before she gets on her feet, he wakes up, and she quickly sits back down. He hears some talking from outside, draws his gun, and looks out the window to see what's going on. He's too tired to function.

8:53 A.M.-8:58 A.M.: Since Jamey still won't talk, Tony and Nina coldly rub it in her nose that they're bringing Kyle in, and if she doesn't start talking soon, Kyle's going to see for himself that his mother is a traitor. Jamey breaks down in tears, begging them not to, but Tony reminds her that the minute Gaines finds out she's in custody, he'll go straight to her son to prevent her from testifying. Jamey blubbers a bit, yet still needs some time to think about it. Nina and Tony decide to leave the room for a bit to give Jamey just that. Jack's car has arrived. Unfortunately, so have the police, and they're circling the area where the car is parked. Jack asks Lauren to go get the car for him and park it around the side of the office. She's annoyed, as she doesn't understand why they couldn't just park it where he wants it in the first place. He explains that's because the person who delivered the car couldn't know who it was for. After he reaffirms that his wife and daughter are really in trouble, she agrees to help him. He says the keys will be in it, and she goes outside. He watches her from the window, but as soon as she gets to the street, she stops, thinks about it, and then, presumably displeased about having a gun pointed at her all that time, runs straight to the cops. Jack flips out, tears down the blinds in the office, opens the window, and gets away in the nick of time. Hayes spots him escaping, but is unable to catch up with him. After his mad dash from the feds, Jack gets to his car, gets in, and drives off.

8:58 A.M.-9:00 A.M.: Nina and Tony are talking to Milo, who's come up with a long list of matches under various spellings of "Gaines." Nina tells him to whittle it down by cross-checking with the other names Jack has provided. Tony tells her that Jamey's had enough time to think about it. Nina tells Milo that Jamey's son is being brought in, and asks him to call her in ITS when he gets there. Milo wants to know what kind of trouble Jamey's in, but Tony stifles him. It doesn't really matter that Milo will soon figure it out -- since Nina knows it's not going to be a secret for much longer, she recommends they bring Milo into it. After all, he'll be working on whatever Jamey gives them. As the two are about to enter ITS, where Jamey's being held, Tony hopes she gives them something substantial. Jamey gave them something substantial alright. She broke a mug and used the glass to slash her wrists. Now she lies passed out in her chair surrounded by a sea of blood. In a panic, Nina calls an ambulance, Tony gives her a makeshift tourniquet, and they both lay her down on the floor. Milo gets on the phone to ask if he should bring Kyle in, since he just arrived. Nina decides there is apparently one thing Kyle should not see, and orders Milo to keep the kid out. Tony and Nina attempt to revive Jamey, to no avail. They are interrupted by her handheld device. It's Gaines. But who's going to answer it? Tick, tick, tick...
